I have just created five ministerial positions in the new Department For Critical Thinking.
A hitherto (by me anyway!) of me with a man who did so much at Rio 2016 to make the hockey tournament run smoothly and help the teams at the stadium, @cliolevi Nothing was too much trouble for Clio whose "day job" was commentating on English Premier League soccer for Brazil TV
Looks interesting for the scholarly hockey person.
Very excited to share that we have a new Collaborative Doctorial Award (PhD) project happening next year on the evolution of 🏑 material culture 1880-present. Partnering with @ICSHC & @Midlands4Cities. Open for applications in Oct 2023 for an Oct 2024 start.

Well, what a journey Maddie Hinch! I am proud to have played a part in your incredible career and what a career it has been. Thank you for all you have done to inspire your teams and the key role you played in the breath taking shoot outs. Enjoy! You will keep inspiring all.
According to this article I played International hockey for 21 years!! To set the record straight, it was half that.....but who's counting!

My profile picture features the 2016 Rio GB Women's hockey Management Team. A team I was immensely proud to be a member of. Last week we tragically lost a key member of that team, @cc_keegan A key member, friend and colleague. I will never forget him. RIP my friend.
I'm not sure how impartial Peter Osborne is but he raises some interesting, and worrying, interpretations, doubting the legitimacy of our democracy. (The subtitles aren't flawless but take a look....)
Saddened to hear of the passing of Essex and East legend Peter Woodward. A Top Man from my era and great fun. He supported England and GB at some major tournaments and was always the "life and soul." Thoughts with Family and Friends

We believe that sport and physical activity is a fundamental right for all children. That’s why the Commonwealth Games men’s and women’s hockey teams have written to the future Prime Minister for their support.

Well done @EnglandHockey men. Great way to finish a very good Tournament for you all. Always feels so good when YOU WIN YOUR LAST GAME.....
Magnificent performance by @EnglandHockey women. @HollieWebb1 was magnificent at the back along with @anna_toman @Balsdon_Grace @giselleansley @MaddieHinch and all. Two great goals. ALWAYS WIN YOUR LAST GAME AND THEY DID! BRILLIANT!
A friend pointed out that no Prime Minister has been both elected and lost a General Election for 50 years. Edward Heath was the last. All the others have been voted in by a small number of Party members, removed by MPs or resigned. Is our democracy working? Discuss!
Marvellous. Let's keep our sense of humour and freedom to express it. Thankyou for sharing @DragonKettle
