If Sam ain’t ruling out a comeback I won’t either. Indefinitely don’t mean out for the season. Hopefully surgery goes well and we go from there

Sam Presti:
"There's a difference between being positive and optimistic. I'm not going to sit up here and say this is exactly where we want to be or this is how we'd like to have it. But at the same time, we're extremely optimistic about the recovery for both the players. Most importantly, things could have been a lot worse, and I think in these types of situations, it's important to take stock, take a step back, realize we're dealing with people, realize we're dealing with the greatest athletes in the world. They're going to be back out there. They'll be playing for our team. They'll be representing our city and our state."

Sam Presti on the fans & OKC being one of the best places to play:
“And the last thing I thought I would say is people talk all the time about how Oklahoma City is one of the best places, if not the best place to play. And a lot of times when they say that, they really start thinking about, well, it's the greatest place because when it's when it's firing on all cylinders, you got the crowd going crazy, the t-shirts on the seats, it's warm outside, you got playoff games, you're having celebrations for players getting awards and things like that. It really is a great place, but I also think it's considered one of the best places to play because the fans are awesome when the wind isn't at your back also. And that is something I think is going to be really important for us as we, you know, work through the next steps. And why I think from a community standpoint, from our fans, all around t he world, quite frankly, but especially here, you know, I understand how disappointed they are. I understand, really, how hurt they are because they care so much about our players. And they want everybody to do well. And we love them for that reason. And these types of situations are where you really see the connection between a team and a group of athletes. And I'm very confident that as we take the next steps, we're going to learn a lot about each other, we'll learn about a lot about our community. But I know how that's going to end up. It's going to be a continuous love affair. So we'll wrap our arms around these guys, we'll get them back, we'll get them healthy. But we have a lot of basketball to play in front of us. And we got to, you know, put it together, figure out what the next steps are because this is part of the business that we're in."

Due to Jalen Williams’ injury, the Thunder can apply for a disabled player exception worth around $14 million, allowing them to sign a player or trade for one with a year or less remaining on their contract, per @WindhorstESPN.
“They can apply for a disabled player exception, which they will certainly get. They will get, I believe, the full mid-level exception that they can use up to the mid-level exception, which is like, $14-ish million that they can use to to sign a player or trade for a player. They can only trade for a player with that exception who's got one year left on his contract. They're a very expensive roster. That's one of the reasons why they made those trades. So I cannot see them leaning into that. They're already deep and they're very expensive. So I think it's unlikely they take advantage of that, but there is a mechanism that exists.”

This city lives and dies with our Thunder. We support them on the court, as representatives of our city off the court, and as people that feel as familiar to us as our friends and neighbors. They’re our guys.
It’s been a thrill for all of us to have JDub back on the court this season. His terrible injury tonight came just a minute or so after he had us all out of our seats for one of his signature moments. We’ll now have to hang on to that moment for awhile.
Our whole city will have JDub in our thoughts and prayers as he deals with this adversity and as he makes his way through his recovery. We are also thinking of his teammates Cason Wallace and Jaylin Williams, who also left the game tonight with injuries.
I took these pictures tonight. We can’t wait till the day @jdubwttp levitates above the court again with ease. We’ll be there to cheer his return, however long it takes.

Feel awful for Jalen Williams.
He played through a torn ligament in his shooting wrist an entire playoff run to help OKC win the title.
He then tried to come back multiple times during last year's playoff run despite being hurt to try to help OKC win another title.
Now after putting in a ton of work and recovering, he suffers a devastating injury to open this season.
He unlocks so much of what OKC does on both sides of the court and nobody brings more energy to Loud City.
Prayers up for JDub as he starts on his road to recovery.
