Callum McGregor: Progressing the Play The Celtic Captain under Ange Postecoglou in 2022/23 averaged 9.7 Progressive Passes per 90 & compared to the data this season, it's declining: - 6.4 Prog Passes per 90 this Season - 1.8ave Prog Passes per 90 in last 6 Matches - 0 Prog Passes v Rangers, Hearts and Celta I don't buy into any of this his "legs are gone", covers loads of distance in games & makes bursts to show, I just am not sure if it's wasted energy: - Bounce FB into 6/CDM - Bounce 8 into 6/CDM - Blindside Movement Bursts onto the Ball There were so many moments where Celtic could have progressed vertically to get McGregor facing forward onto next line like Ange but is it worked on? Are the Patterns of Play clear? I went and watched Talbot v Celtic B a month ago and seen the exact same pointing, lack of vertical passes & not enough play through the 6/CDM Yes, you will know I am a Rangers fan but this country, regardless of team, needs to be creating midfielders that are demanding the ball, aggressively playing forward & taking huge risks for our National Team to keep progressing.

Marink Reedijk - Style of Play Felt it was fair to have a look at David Gray's replacement after 3 games against a variety of opponent. Subscribe & Read 👇

Harry Kane - Ballon d'Or 2026 Developing your own footballers, a lesson to be learned & a reminder that there is no set path; not everyone needs to be playing Top-Flight at 16yo to be a huge success. Spurs played the long game, he was the top-scorer in the 18s in 2009/10 then it was a steady progression: - 2010/11 L1 Loan at Leyton Orient - 2011/12 C Loan at Millwall - 2012/13 Prem Loan at Norwich (Injury killed this & went to Championship Leicester) A progressive loan, players in front of him over those years were Defoe, Adebayor and Soldado who were all top internationals at the time with much more experience and whilst playing 1 CF. Harry Kane then got a little bit of lucky, like every player will need; injuries, investment in other positions & a manager, in Tim Sherwood, that knew him from academy: - Scores 1st Goal at 20yo - Becomes Spurs main CF 21yo - England Debut Goal at 21yo If there isn't a pathway at your club, get players the right loans at the right level and progress the levels year to year & then hopefully they continually return more rounded than just playing academy football. The Co-Op Agreement in Scotland is going to definitely help this for Premiership teams and then it's up to clubs to look forward

McLeish Masterstroke - Rotations & Ramsay If this was a European Coach in our league that had made the tactical tweak that Craig McLeish did, it would have been covered in great detail & praised from everyone. McLeish clearly had watched Dundee's 4-4-2 Man for Man Press & worked on a plan to dismantle it: - Changed to a 3-4-3 Structure - Clear Instruction to "Never" Build in a 5-4-1 - Rotations of Fraser/Ramsay - Thomas (RW) Rolling into Midfield Pocket These types of rotations then posed Dundee questions: - Alan Forrest (LM) Follows Ramsay or Fraser? - Both CM's Occupy Carr/Phillips; Who takes Ramsay Inverted - Who Follows Thomas? LB or CB take ownership All of those questions failed to be answered during Ramsay's opener in the game & I guarantee if this was done by European Coach in our Country, it would be given way more credit than it has... UNTIL NOW I absolutely love what Craig McLeish, Marc Kelly, Burton O'Brien & the rest of the staff are trying to do at that club just now. Long May it Continue

St.Mirren Matchday -1 Prep Visit A huge thank you to Craig McLeish for letting me come into his building and watch him, his staff & players all going through their MD-1 Prep: - Analysis Walkthrough - Tactical Training Session - With & Without the Ball Approach - Set-Play Work For/Against Getting to see full insight into everything they do from the playing staff side to Gavin Miller as Head of Recruitment, is exactly how I expect Scottish Clubs to run efficiently on a smaller budget: - Sign Younger Players e.g Sule, Carr & Fieldson - Develop the Players - Sell the Players for a Profit - Repeat The club have had excellent success over past 4 seasons, unparalleled but the last piece is an effective Player Trading Model to make St.Mirren a profitable club & allowed to continue to build a successful academy and promote their own e.g. Marcello DeBarros, Struan Thompson & Josh Farquahar Similar to Motherwell last year, I really hope this is the start of a successful time for St.Mirren & Saturday's win with a goal and assist from Eseosa Sule potentially signals how all of this works: - Win Now - Develop Ongoing - Sell Later for Profit There are no guarantees in football but right now, Top-6 & those asset players performing... That bit of skill by Bellingham in the middle was Zidane like 👏👏👏

The blatant yellow Cucurella, Rodri & Silva got away with the Gordon gets booked for a great tackle 🤣🤣🤣 Is there a country with good refs?!

Just a point on Jason Wilcox, no opinion good or bad from me, but when people talk about needing "Football Men" to make "Football Decisions": - Premier League Winner - 350+ Premier League Apps - England Internationalist - UEFA Pro Licence Coach - Head of City Academy - Southampton Technical Director - Man Utd Technical Director If people understand Data, Recruitment/Talent Identification & People; they can be successful in the Director/Recruitment roles regardless of playing experience👌

Evanilson with a Peter Van Vossen-esk finish v Kilmarnock 🥰

Putting up a video, lying about the score at the time & hiding the real scoreboard (2-0) to get engagement is the virus of the new revenue sharing system

My First* Arsenal Etihad trip We dont talk about 2008 😢

Good decision after a VAR review but on what planet did the referee not give a foul in real time?!

The fact he runs off claiming yet another goal he didnt get a touch in is utterly embarrassing Its been changed an O.G 🫡
