Insane that I have a first-degree connection to two Nobel laureates. I was a TA for Bawendi at MIT; Brus was my advisor for 2 years when I was at Columbia. I remember them both as incredibly kind people as well. Congrats to both!
BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”

4. Takeaways: (1) standard best practices for implementing crypto (including audits) still need to be followed; (2) don't deviate from the published protocol unless you know what you are doing

2. TL;DR: the first attack exploits ambiguous encoding of inputs to a hash function; the second exploits deviations from published ZK proofs (or using security parameters that are too small)

Glad to oblige!
Woaw! You would have told me that @jon_katz would mention linear orthormophisms as a useful tool for optimizing garbled circuits in his #Crypto2019 invited talk, I would not have believed you!

I am against Councilmember Hans Riemer's current #mocotinyhouse proposal on on accessory dwelling units (ADUs), unless changes to the proposal are made.

I suggest amending the #mocotinyhouse proposal so that **only two unrelated families can reside in the house and ADUin total** (rather than the current proposal, which as I see it allows two unrelated families in the house and an additional two unrelated families in the ADU)

I also want to know whether Riemer has considered the effect his #mocotinyhouse proposal will have on owners' using ADUs as airbnb rentals
