I've wanted this API for years. Turns out that's what agents want too 🤖
Expo Modules 2.0 🎉
→ a module is just an annotated Swift class
→ agents write it with almost nothing in context
→ up to 14.5× faster calls than SDK 55
Early look, iOS first 👇

We just released react-native-runtimes! 🥳
👉 Render React components on separate JS Runtimes
👉 Share state (Zustand) across Runtimes, synced in C++
👉 Dual-Thread-approach for rendering/business logic
We plugged this into MetaMask which made the app start substantially faster:

🗞️ Getting ready to send out Expo's monthly newsletter: Optimistic Updates. It will have a summary of all the SDK 55 content we've published so far & SDK 55 tutorial content from the community.
We truly send this email once a month (actually not even that much 🫠). No spam. Just good info about what we're building, what the community is building, and what events we plan to attend.
You can add yourself to the list here if you're interested: expo.dev/mailing-list/signup

Super excited about this launch -- every Claude Code user just got way more context, better instruction following, and the ability to plug in even more tools

When I created Claude Code as a side project back in September 2024, I had no idea it would grow to be what it is today. It is humbling to see how Claude Code has become a core dev tool for so many engineers, how enthusiastic the community is, and how people are using it for all sorts of things from coding, to devops, to research, to non-technical use cases. This technology is alien and magical, and it makes it so much easier for people to build and create. Increasingly, code is no longer the bottleneck.
A year ago, Claude struggled to generate bash commands without escaping issues. It worked for seconds or minutes at a time. We saw early signs that it may become broadly useful for coding one day.
Fast forward to today. In the last thirty days, I landed 259 PRs -- 497 commits, 40k lines added, 38k lines removed. Every single line was written by Claude Code + Opus 4.5. Claude consistently runs for minutes, hours, and days at a time (using Stop hooks). Software engineering is changing, and we are entering a new period in coding history. And we're still just getting started..

We know the pain of slow native builds… so we created something really awesome to fix them. 😎
Introducing RN Repo: a free, open-source plugin that makes shipping React Native apps faster thanks to prebuilt artifacts. ⚡️🚀
Try it out now in beta. Links in the thread.

One of the worst things about React Hooks is how they completely hide away complexity.
Yes, I meant worst. Allow me to ellaborate.
At @brexHQ, we deal with a huge and ever-evolving codebase. We're taking about millions of LOC of React, written from 2018 onwards.
Some interesting insights on the state of code review
