there are now new renders of pedestrianised Oxford Street
FYI the renders of pedestrianised Oxford Street with the silly green floor some people are getting angry about are about a decade old and from a previous, scrapped version of the scheme. TfL haven't done more recent renders, so they're on every news story. It won't look like that

Holborn and St Pancras has got to be a top 10 bizarre constituency name. Holborn must be max 10% of the population and St Pancras is barely a place

As we near the end of summer, there's been lots of progress on cycleway development in London. The first here shows the Levelling-Up funded new cycle tracks outside Dagenham Heathway Station in @lbbdcouncil. Already good progress made and should be done by the end of the year!

the shocked replies to this totally sensible result illustrate a lot about the sort of people whose opinions you're generally seeing on this website these days
If you had a choice between instantly receiving £50,000 or a 50% chance to win £1m, which would you pick? £50,000: 73% 50/50 chance of winning £1m: 21%

a lot of commentary on Healey focusing (reasonably) on the defence spending stuff, but haven’t seen anyone mention that he’s a long-term enthusiast for social housing (which Burnham says will be part of his agenda) theguardian.com/housing-netw…

as Dawn put it in 2015: "Despite moving from shadow housing minister to the shadow health brief under Ed Miliband, he remained interested in housing. Healey was instrumental in starting the SHOUT campaign to lobby for and defend social housing.” theguardian.com/housing-netw…
