El-Sayed: "People like JD Vance think America is too small for some of us. I think America is big enough. I think America has been big enough to include people like JD Vance, people like me, people whose families came here, people who were here before anybody else showed up, or people whose ancestors were brought here despite themselves. I think America is big enough for all of us. His view of America is small. It's small like him. It's small-minded."
Completely unsurprising!
When you give up your integrity to be a Trump acolyte as @JDVance has done then of course there is nothing you wouldn't say to win, because you no longer earnestly believe you're the kind of person who would rather lose with dignity.
And the truth of this of course leaks out of Vance all the time, like steam through weak joints, usually in the form of contempt and projection. Oh it's Abdul who disdains Americans, does he? Interesting. You can just TELL, can you? Interesting!
At his Cincinnati rally, Vance says Democrats have thrown "every dirty trick in the political book at Vivek"
“Now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar" #OHGOV
The Max Cleland ad comes to mind, I GUESS, but really don't know if there's any comparison to this.
Also, to this person, Connie Luck, who seems to have put being a feeling thinking person aside in order to lend her name to a completely mediocre and uninspiring candidate like @VivekGRamaswamy who would exploit child sexual abuse in this way - there is still time.
I want to scream "REPENT" on a street corner.
Ramaswamy doubles down. “We don’t know what happened between Amy and her mother, who first spoke out about Amy in 2020, but we know that Amy Acton is a serial fabulist who has some serious problems with the truth,” Connie Luck, his spox, said. nytimes.com/2026/10/20/us/po…
Maybe the most disgusting political ad in living memory.
And then this statement by the campaign embracing the message - just completely morally bankrupt and depraved.
Hope everyone is taking a moment to be shocked!

Took Karen Bass 3 years to appoint a film czar to keep production jobs in LA and that person is part time.
Hollywood’s center of gravity is increasingly tilting to the East Coast.
While California kept its crown at No. 1 with $1.76 billion in movie and TV production spend, New York is drawing major titles at a much more rapid pace, according to industry tracker ProdPro’s closely-watched quarterly snapshot released on Thursday. The state surged 87 percent in production spend in the quarter to $1.61 billion compared with California’s 17 percent uptick.

YES, your impression is wrong!
And it's wrong because a bunch furrowed brow dummies who claim to be sophisticated still need their hands held the whole time. Same people who complained that Barbie had a speech that explained the point, walk out of this movie in which THEY CLEARLY NEEDED THAT SPEECH.
Replying to @jonlovett
My impression from reviews was that the movie was overwrought and a little "Don't Look Up", hit-you-over-the-head-with-the-point. Before it came out, I was looking forward to seeing it - is my impression wrong?
EVERYONE BUT JOHN PODHORETZ SHOULD GO SEE DIGGER
And I'll say one more thing about Digger, the MASTERPIECE, before I sign off to turn tonight's ep of Lovett or Leave It into a Digger Appreciation Podcast -
A lot of critics - and haters generally - seem unable to imagine that maybe Iñárritu is capable of infusing a story with ambivalence, an ambivalence you felt but attributed to your own superiority as a film appreciator while at the same time being baffled by the deliberate, careful choices that led you to that feeling! You absolute fuckin rubes!
OK I'm done.
I am being serious!
Everyone should go see Digger!
Expect it will be like Lebowski or Shawshank as a movie that may have failed at the box office but will be seen as a classic. And it is a SHAME because we should all want movies like this to exist!
And I'm mad that I didn't see it when it opened in part because of the general din of disapproval by critics, and waited until I heard word of mouth from friends who loved it.
I can respect reviews that were ambivalent though that is incorrect, but the pans - these people ought to be shunned from society.
Replying to @jonlovett
To be clear, are you being serious? I.e., should I go see it/ is it actually good??
I kept having this feeling that Troy Jackson's speaking style reminded me of someone, and just realized that it's Saul Tigh from Battlestar Galactica (complimentary) and maybe this will be helpful to others to share.
AIRING TONIGHT: Had a very fun and insane experience on @MillionaireTV with @MichaelKeaton and @jimmykimmel and while I briefly disassociated still a blast and would recommend, and can only assume it was great TV
