It's wild that The Getaway is now an explorable 3D time capsule of the British high street at the turn of the millennium.

As an avid importer of KL discs, this obviously stings like hell. My interview with Roger Donaldson has turned up on their No Way Out disc. Not quite sure why, and not had a penny for it. Not even a disc! It's hard enough being an indie without stuff like this.
Wild that @kinolorber would just swipe one of the exclusive special features from our UK-only @filmstories limited edition No Way Out Blu-ray – @simonbrew's interview with director Roger Donaldson – and stick it on their 4K edition without licensing it!

Alain Delon passed away tonight and I'm again reminded that we're losing a generation of men who possessed an incredible sense of style. But what made Delon's style so extraordinary? Let's explore. 🧵

It's fortunate we have cinema. Otherwise what would be the point in anyone looking like Alain Delon?

If you love Hitch’s work as much as I do - so much so that my pub quiz team is named after him - then get this book (Also get this book if you’ve only seen, say, North By Northwest once and you’re curious to learn more about him)
Today would have been Alfred Hitchcock's 125th birthday, if only he'd been, like, SPECTACULARLY healthier than he actually was. Why not celebrate by treating yourself, a loved one or a bitter rival to HITCHOLOGY? All the details you need are here: neilalcock.com/hitchology

V personal thread with a public punch line A few days ago my sister was at the curfew tower in Cushendall.  She met a man from Liverpool.  They got talking and he realised he knew our Mum.  More importantly that HIS mum knew our mum …..

Yesterday's riots have woken people up to the scale of the far right challenge. But we’re still getting a lot of things wrong. 1/ The fascists achieved something: they have terrorised Britain’s BAME population. I’ve got people contacting me saying they don’t feel safe…

🔵Reform won four seats. 🟢The Greens won four seats. This graphic shows the four Reform seats. The four Green seats are lumped in with ‘other’. It has begun. There will be more. Call it out when you see it. Give the Greens the platform they have earned.

RIP Robert Towne. Chinatown remains one of the greatest screenplays ever written. He also did a lot of uncredited work on films like The Godfather, Bonnie and Clyde, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, The Parallax View, etc.

Writing is a way of thinking. If you delegate writing to AI, you skip the thinking as well as the writing.
