COASTAL FLOODING, HIGH SURF & MARINE HAZARDS PERSIST Strong onshore flow will continue to create issues for coastal communities through the middle of the week as higher than normal tides will allow for periods of tidal flooding, some major, over the next few days. The worst flooding will be with Monday morning's tide, but at least minor to moderate flooding is expected both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Large waves on top of the incoming high tides will allow for continued beach erosion and surf hazards including dangerous rip currents. A Gale Warning remains in effect for coastal waters as hazardous marine conditions will continue today. Outside of impacts to coastal communities, I expect plenty of sunshine and pleasantly warm afternoons through the weekend. Look for steadily warming high temperatures into the upper 70s by Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows will climb, as well, with upper 40s to start the week rising through the 50s by Friday morning. #chswx #chsnews #scwx #scnews

SATURDAY'S TUMBLING TEMPERATURES A strong cold front will sweep across the Palmetto State late tonight. Temperatures will be near 70° for most of the Lowcountry around sunrise Saturday. A gusty north wind, as high as 30-35 mph, will develop and allow temperatures to fall through the 60s and into the upper 50s by sunset. #chswx #chsnews #scwx #scnews #charlestonsc #charleston #southcarolina

Met @jaredwsmith when he first started @chswx. Just a wonderful guy who turned a hobby into a true passion and made quite the impact. Rest easy, Jared.
A devastating and unexpected loss. @jaredwsmith was one of the kindest people and he proudly served the community through @chswx. I was lucky enough to know him and he'll be greatly missed. Please keep his wife, family, and friends in your thoughts and prayers

COASTAL FLOODING, MORNING STORMS GIVE WAY TO SUNDAY AFTERNOON IMPROVEMENTS The final bands of showers and thunderstorms will move across the Lowcountry this morning with bursts of heavy rain and a continued risk of an isolated tornado. This morning's high tide will produce some coastal flooding with the possibility of road closures in tidal flood prone areas. Rain chances will drop through the afternoon with a partly sunny sky developing. It will be warm and breezy with gusts as high as 25 mph and high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. #chswx #chsnews #scwx #scnews #southcarolina #charleston #charlestonsc #weather #isaias
