People really love their straw man arguments.
But apparently they don’t love proofreading their memes before they post them.
Dude must’ve been feeling particularly self-doubting this morning and really needed to self-soothe immediately.
Tepid take:
I don't think anybody should ever say the word "webmastering" ever again. 😆

"Elon Musk says" is consistently the start of a sentence that ends up being one of the stupidest things that you've ever read in your life.

"I want this election to be about substance so I produced the sleaziest personal attack ad starring my opponents estranged mother who stood by while her daughter was sexually abused as a preteen"
Vivek Ramaswamy just told reporters, "It is an ad from our campaign, and the thing that I want to say is that I would love for this race and this election to be about the substantive issues that impact Ohioans, and unfortunately, Amy Acton has been hiding from those issues. She won't debate me."
He later said Acton's mother was not compensated.

If that's what LLMs did, you'd have a point. They don't, so you don't.
Replying to @jpvanhoy @ChamanthaPlays
If copying and pasting a citation from a citation generator is plagiarism, I promise so is the machine that is copying and pasting from everywhere.
No, Oxycodone, LLMs do not plagiarize. Because they can't. Because they don't store the training data for later retrieval like most people seem to think.
It was certainly ONE of the points of the post, and the one I chose to focus on.
If you'd like, though, I can address the other point, which was that OP thinks that AI companies are going to price small users out of the market and leave them "high and dry" as it were, without any way to do what they were previously doing.
That's highly unlikely. Most Anti-AI people really have no idea how to use AI, how others use AI, how AI gets used in the marketplace already, or who is using AI. There will most likely always be a free tier of AI for people to use, and most likely always be a low-cost tier. Just like there are similar tiers of Meta, X, Gitlab, Github, Jira, Fusion360, Photoshop, and all the other things that have the same model. Why people think AI is going to be any different is beyond me.
Now, does that make you feel better?
You know guys, I used to think LLMs didn't and weren't capable of plagiarization. But after reading this well-reasoned, well-written, coherent, logical argument, I feel like I might have been wrong. I think that @krait22 and @ChamanthaPlays might be onto something here!
And yet, somehow artists had careers before social media existed.
How'd that work?
