Met Chile on Saturday, he absolutely loves pets and is desperately in need of some full time love. Would pet again!
Meet Chile (5mo)! He's a curious (some would say mischievous 😋) pup who is learning how his playful and chill sides can work in harmony. He can't wait for his forever family to help him learn even more! #AdoptDontShop 🐾 Visit him at 250 Florida St, SF: bit.ly/3t3kXBu

But when we fall into that valley, the impact can be potentially huge. Large language models do not possess "intelligence". They are not making thoughtful decisions. They are doing very sophisticated guessing at incomprehensible speeds.

This is one of the most stupendous things I've ever seen and I can't tell you the reason. What a punch in the gut oh my god.

Loved talking to @andyojones last night about Deep Work and some of the amazing benifits that come from focus on the "Poetry and Technology Hour". I apologize for my terrible audio quality, if I ever get invited back I promise to do better! Check it out at poetrytechnology.buzzsprout.…

ALT a Venn diagram showing things that are actually slowing down development teams (constant reprioritizing, burnout, pointless meetings, technical debt, generating subtle devastating bugs) - and things that an AI coding assistant speeds up (generating subtle devastating bugs, googling boilerplate code). The intersection is generating subtle devastating bugs
I'm no longer convinced machine learning applications will ever be better than 🤷. From self driving cars to chat bots every single one i've personally experienced is a 60% solution with no clear path to getting anywhere near functionally complete and generally useful.
