This is shocking but not at all surprising to those of us who’ve been following border externalization and refugee offshoring—and it’s going to become normalized before we know it.

It is worth watching this CNN video from the moment Emory Econ Professor @CarolineFohlin came across the violent arrest of a protester on campus and asked the police, with shock, "What are you doing?" That's all that prompted an officer to hurl her to the ground and handcuff her.
A CNN crew witnessed at least two professors detained by Atlanta police, including @EmoryUniversity economics professor Caroline Fohlin and Noëlle McAfee, chair of the philosophy department. #FreePalestine cnn.com/business/live-news/c…

Despicable. Literal, unvarnished dehumanization. It’s no mystery where this kind of sentiment leads.

As a father of two daughters that are about Hind Rajab's age, her story hit me particularly hard.
I cannot begin to imagine the distress she went through in her last moments, highlighting the complete absence of humanity in what Israel inflicts on the Palestinians.
At 6 years old she managed to call an ambulance from a car that had been targeted by the IDF (you can see the car in the video 👇). She was wounded but had miraculously survived, surrounded by the dead bodies of her aunt, uncle and her 3 cousins. She stayed on the phone during three hours, telling health services she was "so scared" (you can hear a recording of the call in the video).
A Red Crescent ambulance was sent to get her. The ambulance was never heard from again.
10 days after Hind Rajab's car was found with 6 decomposing bodies inside, including hers. The ambulance that had been dispatched to fetch her was also found, utterly destroyed (you can see it in the video) with the bodies of 2 medics inside.
Immensely revolting.
The body of six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab has been found decomposing in the car where her family were killed by Israeli gunfire in Gaza City.
A few metres away, the ambulance sent to rescue Hind was burnt out with the remains of two medics inside ⤵️
