The boys are back in town! They're greedy and noisy but I love hearing their chattering #starlings #gardenthugs
Rescued this amazing little beasty off the car park floor. Wonder what he'll turn into?馃 #butterflies #moths #caterpillars
Guessing a parakeet feather! They can often be heard and seen in blackweir woods now 馃馃馃 #birdsoftwitter

No matter what prayer tune you put in the background, no matter how much you paint a little terrified baby, you can't romanticise this cruelty! This baby is going to spend the next minimum 50 years in isolated captivity!

Fog entering Glacier Bay!
Dawn today, our last one this year on Lake Wahwaskesh. Yesterday it was well drych but we did see the eagle again and the owner of my feather, the Northern Flicker, so still a good day!#birdlovers #lakelife #sunrise
Last lovely paddle into the back bay before we head home. Next year we'll have the trail cam sorted as our beach seems to be the favourite nightly hotspot, possible prints from racoons, porcupines, herons, foxes and deers! Thanks #wawashkesh and Canada 馃嚚馃嚘馃榿
Think these were a pair of red crossbills. When we pulled up in the boat they were on the ground and the male looked much redder. They flew up into the tree and I couldn't adjust settings to get a decent photo, apparently people were trying to get boats in the water馃し #birdsfirst
Since September's arrival there does seem to be more wildlife here. Yesterday I hit my 50 species of #birds heard or seen since arriving 1august 馃帀 Yesterday we spotted 2 pairs of (not so)solitary sandpipers, pair of belted #kingfishers & a pair of huge pileated woodpeckers 馃馃榿
Love the name, Dragonhunter! Saved him from drowning, think he was trying to eat another #dragonfly on the water, which got eaten by a fish. It was his lucky day, dried out on the canoe then took off to patrol again 馃榿
A beautiful feather from a yellow bellied sapsucker I think. *Found by my great niece 馃榿 #birdwatching #naturefinds
Yesterday was rainy most of the day but in the evening the sun came out and I heard a pair of loons calling right below the cottage so took a walk out to back bay. Think it was a parent feeding it's almost grown chick! #loons #lakelife #BirdsOfTwitter
In all the birthday month celebrations and then dashing off to Canada earlier than planned I forgot to say what a fantastic vegan cake my husband got from @letthemseecake it was absolutely delicious and enjoyed by all! Thanks 馃榿馃巶
Not a bad birding day when visiting the rubbish dump. Spotted what I think is an osprey as we were heading across the lake. Came over to check us out 馃榿Then a couple of sandcranes in field as we drove by, and finally some rebel seagulls! #birdsoftwitter #wahwashkesh #twitcher
Usually after a few weeks here in #Ontario I've seen or heard around 15 different types of #warblers (there are over 30 here!) This year it's been about 5 馃槒. I've seen a few black&white, blackburnian, yellow rumped, common yellowthroat and mainly the pine. #BirdsSeenIn2026
Don't know who was struggling more, the loon trying to eat his fish or me trying to photograph him from a very bobby tin boat 馃槄 #birdsofcanada #birdwatching #wahwashkesh
