What I always called "my MOOC hobby" led to what are still my top 3 cited publications: big, descriptive pieces that reconceptualized MOOCs, "they're not 'students'; they're not 'courses'," with @jumpbean83, @bjfr, @nesterko, and many others. scholar.google.com/citations… 2/8

Another year passed, and still more work to be done.
This song, "Build a House", came knocking a week ago and I had to let it in. What can I say about what’s been happening, what has happened, & what continues to happen, in this country, in the world? There’s too many words & none, all at once. So I let the music speak, as usual.

looking forward to making sure the civics literacy requirement highlights how people in power routinely supress democracy because they want to remain in power.... #facultydecide
NOW it's done. It took less than 30 seconds. That's apparently the lesson of civics literacy - suppressing dissent is much faster than democracy. #facultydecide

A good example of how not to demonstrate civics literacy... #facultydecide
Wow. Zero. discussion. and zero. mention. of significant faculty resistance, the @LifeAtPurdue BOT just passed the civics literacy requirement. Outrageous. What an education in civics literacy. #facultydecide

Whew. I’m sorry but folks saying the outcomes of elections don’t matter... that just isn’t true. There’s already about to be material change in the lives of many people. And yes, we can & must push for more.

Instead of talking about changing White people’s hearts and minds, can we talk about changing the electoral system that gives White voters a disproportionate amount of power (as it was designed to do)?
