A paragraph from a piece I wrote back in December when discussing how the fire service gives someone purpose... It rings true this week...

A friend asked me tonight after seeing my crew proudly cleaning & scrubbing the stn/equip/trucks after a structure fire "how do you get that point" my resp "many days/nights/yrs" doing it alone until others take notice. Pride takes time to grow as they make it their own.

Never forget that campfires are fuel limited and where the marshmallow/hotdog stage is... ever. #TrainingPrep
Left a surprise for the firefighter in my station who loaths a clean bay floor... I haven't been able to help him as much as I've wanted to lately. The floor under this rig was atrocious... I can guarantee I will get a message in the AM from him about this #CaptainsCanRunMopsToo
Ypu should never care about who your audience is at the fire station, you SHOULD care about how you do your job, how you train and conduct yourself both in the presence of others and when no one is watching... Do these well and your audience will come organically #integrity
Some days you wonder if you've inspired or passed on the passion to new members... then other other day you just have to walk in and look #eatoffthefloor #passion #firedup #proudcaptain
