first words Sonya Massey said at her front door were “don’t hurt me”
she was told “why would we hurt you, you called us”
when have those words meant anything when your black and woman in this country
when do those words protect you from not being murdered in your kitchen, in your bedroom, with your babies, or on your lawn
what is “reassurance”, in this place ?
rest in power Sonya Massey, and an abundance of love and power to Sonya’s family on this journey
This is far from a comprehensive history but was fun to put together. If I had more than an hour staff meeting to conceptualize and create, I would have featured more players from New Orleans, especially those who played pro ball in N.O. (Robert Pack, Randy Livingston, etc.)

These are the pages of my inaugural poem that an objecting parent cited as "not educational and have indirectly hate messages". And now because of that one complaint, my poem is now banned for elementary school students at a school in @MiamiDadeCounty.

I am disgusted by the grotesquely inhumane treatment of #TyreNichols.
I want elected officials, civic leaders, corporations & faith leaders to invest the same [even more] energy in preventing police brutality as they did in preparing for responses to a video of police brutality.

There aren’t Thanksgiving carols, so @justinalamb made this amazing playlist about giving thanks, feeling gratitude, and generally saying thank you. Highly highly recommend
