“4v4 Turnover Transition”
Scrambling into randomized transition possessions
Offense works on advantage transition, defense works on fighting to get the possession to neutral

‼️ CONCEPTS THAT KILL IN HS ‼️
This is an Iverson curl from a SLOB set. Few teams will scout your actions from the BLOB/SLOB especially if you use false spacing templates - in this case, a box.

Huge proponent of this
The best BLOB defenses in DIII last season:
🥇 Salem State — 0.532 PPP
🥈 New Jersey City — 0.550 PPP
🥉 Washington (MD) — 0.578 PPP
What did they have in common?
All three played zone.
Here's how each one worked ⬇️

If you're looking to score 4-8 more points per game, may I suggest making it a point of emphasis to pass, not dribble, the ball across half court. (We jumped from 86 to 92 PPG last year after instituting this...)
We'll practice 5v5 FC with a rule you have to pass across HC if someone is ahead of you or it's a turnover.
Guys will start running once they see it's an easy 2-4 more points for their averages.

Don’t drink the Rhule-Aid
Stay away from the Rat Poison
Don’t tweet “give us Dylan Raiola”
Don’t think about the running the table if we win this game
Just go win the next half

Kids haven't changed. Adults have forgotten what gets kids excited.
If kids seem lazy, unmotivated, or uninterested, maybe the first thing we should look at isn't the kids.
Maybe we should look at what we're asking them to do.
Is it fun? Is it challenging? Does it allow them to explore, compete, create, and solve problems?
Or are we expecting kids to get excited about things that only make sense to adults?
Before we question a kid's motivation, maybe we should question the environment we've created for them.
Genetics are undefeated!!
the wildest thing about coaching young kids in the 8-11 range is when you run into them three or four years later
that slow, small kid who couldn't kick a soccer ball?
he's 5'5", confident and lightning fast now
the short, uncoordinated kid who couldn't catch a football?
he's 5'9" at 13, has huge hands and a sick vertical.
parents, please, chill on the U12 youth sports pressure
it ALL changes once they hit puberty. genetics, man.

Yesterday these boys completed a perfect 6-0 JH football season. Less than 12 hours later they are up early and back in the weightroom putting in more work. @OC_Knights

Chip is quickly making Northwestern a must watch like the Oregon 2007-2012 glory days.
This is sick.

You can’t point the finger at one play and say that it was the sole reason we lost us the game, but these missed early game chip shot field goals are absolutely crippling and always comes back to haunt us.
I mean, I seriously can’t help but feel that Nebraska would easily have 15+ more wins over the past decade if we were just somewhat respectable in our FG%.
Obviously there’s more to winning/losing than that, but it has clearly been our kryptonite.
