Hello #PortfolioDay My name is Kal and I focus on making products and i love cute things, flowers, and death motifs.
My hot take on the alnst drama is that it makes sense that it's about mizi since the songs are more or less their auditions for the alien stage???? Also bisexual people can harbor feelings for both genders and doesn't invalidate his love for Ivan?

hot take but making a story abt a bisexual man who crushes on a lesbian is a very human experience and it doesnt make the series any less or more queer. it itself is a valid queer experience and making this all abt ship wars is stupid

Reading the article and we're really gonna end up flooded with normies who don't know how to behave in fandom spaces cuz some of y'all flipped out at people using the download button as intended 🤦🏽♀️
On October 29th, AO3 unexpectedly went down. It’s still offline, and may be that way for several more weeks as they investigate a security breach. The site’s downtime has created a lot of panic and stress, but it’s also winched open a rift between fan fiction writers and readers, all made worse by the state of modern publishing, AI, and the feeling that art and media are just grist for the scroll.
I reported it all out for @CNN and found out a lot about the current state of fan fiction in the process. Huge thanks to @momovolution2 for being my guide here, and for all the authors who talked to me about what’s going on and how they feel about it.

In the US Visa and Mastercard ban large swaths of adult content from being bought with them, including illustrated, and Kofi/Paypal/Stripe have hard bans on it. Our censorship is financial and is destroying livelihoods left and right. Contact your reps about curbing their power

One interesting development that sits on top of all this is the mainstreaming of fandom and fanfic. AO3 is the 56th most visited site website IN THE WORLD and is in the top 30-40 in the US depending on the month. Semrush estimates that AO3 gets more monthly visitors than eBay or ESPN or the NYT with users spending more than 20 minutes per visit.
Those are astonishing metrics, but has also opened a door that not everyone wants ajar which is partially what this story is about.
