Aptos Financial Ecosystem Analysis
In November, Aptos' total value locked (TVL) surpassed $1 billion for the first time and is up 19x year-over-year.
BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, expanded its USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) to Aptos alongside four other chains in November.
In October, USDT, the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, went live with a native token contract on Aptos. Likewise, a native contract for USDC, the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization, was announced in November.
Other innovative financial platforms are being built on Aptos. For example, Propbase, a real estate tokenization marketplace, sold out its first offering in July, while Echo Protocol, which brings Bitcoin liquidity to Aptos, launched in August.
Daily DEX volume on Aptos increased by 2,700% (28x) in the last year from $750,000 to $21.5 million.

Aptos has achieved a significant milestone, with its Total Value Locked (TVL) surpassing $1 billion, currently standing at $1.026 billion—a new all-time high. This growth is largely driven by the following top protocols in its ecosystem:
- Amnis Finance: TVL of $319.78 million, a 7-day increase of 40.34%.
- Aries Markets: TVL of $285.2 million, a 7-day increase of 19.96%.
- Thala: TVL of $253.7 million, a 7-day increase of 28.37%.
This surge in Aptos’ TVL aligns with the broader cryptocurrency market’s bullish trend. Notably, Bitcoin has reached a record high, nearing $90,000, following the recent U.S. presidential election. The election of a pro-crypto administration has fueled optimism among investors, contributing to significant gains across various digital assets.
The positive sentiment in the crypto market is further evidenced by substantial inflows into cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and related stocks. For instance, MicroStrategy, a major corporate holder of Bitcoin, recently purchased an additional 27,200 bitcoins for $2.03 billion, resulting in a 25% increase in its shares.
These developments underscore a growing confidence in the cryptocurrency sector, with platforms like Aptos experiencing remarkable growth in their ecosystems.

Using the dog year analogy, I guess 1 crypto year is 10 normie years. So @MocaverseNFT is almost a teenager now. Can’t believe it was only a year ago that we launched the 8888 NFT collection, which is the foundation for #MocaID, and now, the @MOCAFoundation and $MOCA that will power everything in this universe.
Mocaverse is one of the first projects I took up when I joined @animocabrands. @tylerdurden88 was my first partner in crime as the project leader. Working with the vision of @ysiu and his open web3 ethos, and off early drafts from @yusufg, we debated many many versions of what Mocaverse should be, and who it should include. We had many safe, cookie cutter PFP ideas.
But we believe, if this is the first step to tokenise Animoca’s ecosystem, we had to be expansive in our vision. We had to be different. We had to set a new industry standard.
So we defined the realms where Mocas will inhabit, across Play, Build, Learn, and Do Good. We created personas that represent who we see in web3: Builders, Angels, Dreamers, Connectors, NeoCapitalists. It felt like just yesterday when we were penning all these together with the team on GoogleDoc with @AaronTsoi2 @hannahmoca over long sessions.
No projects are smooth sails all the way. Mocaverse was born in the bear market. We had many hiccups along the way, and @CryptoCreedo was at the frontline explaining to our community. #NickDoherty was BDing when partners asked, where are your users, and how come your floor price is stagnant. Damn those ain’t easy days.
But with perseverance, and additional horsepower from @amanbehumble @Satoshi_GoJo_ @miss3bbb, the team kept building. We proved the haters wrong. We launched brilliant campaigns and partnerships. We are innovating on how we think about tokenomics, with our in-house wizards @Mo_Ezz14 @marcmcg.
I am still so proud of the Cosmic Hunt social experience the team has created, where we activated the Moca community to work together. It is game, social, incentive, strategy all in one. It was beautiful.
I was brought to tears with the more recent @pixels_online activation, when we have Moca avatars filling up the Pixels townhall! It was an insane experience to be together, in the metaverse, as Mocas. Don't tell me virtual experience doesn't count! It meant the world to me, and I know, also to our #Mocafam.
I felt so blessed we have our #Mocafam that rally behind us, to co-create, initiate, build, shill, and fight FUD. The regional groups, clubs, podcasts, townhalls, digests...there's so much creativity that still astonishes me today.
Many told us in the early days post launch: go check out Mocaverse Discord, ngl it felt like it’s 2021 all over again. The hype, and sense of community was unmatched at that time.
To all our all supporters🫵, thank you for showing me what the word “community” means. We are nothing without you.

I am stepping back in as CEO of Yuga Labs. Wylie and I are grateful for all the contributions and operational rigor Daniel has brought to the company, and appreciate his thoughtfulness and mentorship over the past year. I’m reinvigorated to be taking the reins for our next chapter.
Looking at what’s ahead for Yuga, we need to execute with a more cryptonative focus across the entire company. There’s a couple things that are top of mind for Wylie and I:
-BAYC: Appreciate everyone coming out to the first “Bored Meeting” this past weekend. To sum up our thinking around BAYC in the briefest possible terms, the utility of BAYC comes from the network. From everybody who is in the club. That’s why ApeFest is so special, why Made by Apes has seen explosive adoption, why the clubhouse itself is so hype, and why BAYC is able to collab with some of the biggest brands in the world.
We want to unshackle the BAYC team at Yuga as much as possible to execute against its vision. More focus, more agility. So it can do the above, and create the space for the magic and crazy shit we used to get up to more often.
Focus and agility requires autonomy. Step 1 is already done. A new company, “BAYC LLC”, was created as a Yuga subsidiary and will be responsible for everything BAYC. We’ve got a crack team of ninjas on the BAYC team, but there’s still a couple important roles to be filled over there.
-Otherside: Otherside should be the living room of web3. The default space you go to in order to play and hang with your community (no matter what community that is).
Otherside is also a massive swing for the fences. We’ve got a lot of work to do. The only way it gets built properly is if you all come in and experience it more often. When we set out to build Otherside, the goal was to make it a public, iterative process. I’m confident in the work our team has done to get us back to this plan, and our communication is going to ramp up this week starting with “Apes Come Home.” And we need to follow it up with a lot more frequent communication starting now and throughout the year.
-Gaming: We need to approach games at Yuga with a tighter focus on what works. For us, that’s a barbell approach:
1) crazy fun play patterns that any kid at heart can enjoy. The more wildly fun and mass market, the better: like Dookey Dash. This is all about opening the funnel and flooding our ecosystem with millions of new users, and leveraging that to create opportunities for creators, IP holders, and pro players. Stoked for how this is coming together with our friends at @farawaygg
2) Cryptonative mechanics and platforms, like [redacted].
We’re going on three years since Yuga was founded, and we couldn’t be more excited about some of the stuff we’ve got in the pipeline. Extremely grateful for the team that’s assembled here across all our brands. There’s a lot of work to be done, but I couldn’t imagine doing it with any other team, or any other community of builders. Thanks for your support.
