Tihar ko hardik shuvakamana!
As thousands of Nepali New Yorkers light diyas for Laxmi Puja and celebrate the bonds of Bhai Tika, may this Tihar bring you prosperity, peace, and the sense of belonging you deserve.

This. And no to Jeffries & Schumer leadership.
"I don’t want Jared Kushner to be investigated because he’s the president’s son-in-law. I want him investigated because he’s potentially laundered and embezzled $2 billion dollars in funds from the governments of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. I don’t want Stephen Miller investigated because he’s a racist ghoul who’s at the center of the Trump brain trust. I want him investigated because he’s a racist ghoul who has violated the due-process rights of millions of people and, potentially, directly violated court orders. I don’t want Pete Hegseth investigated because he’s a toxic psychopath who is unqualified to lead America’s military forces. I want him investigated because he’s a fucking murderer who needs to spend the rest of his life in jail, either in this country or The Hague." thenation.com/article/politi…

Elon Musk has no real understanding of cultures. And he doesn’t care for it.
Social Media is the biggest threat to destroying local cultures by creating a false need to be “viral”.
Musk is a piece of💩 who is using X & his $ to destroy countries and tear apart societies.

Nepal is in the grip of a devastating climate crisis that has displaced families and left thousands missing. The Trump administration must act now to grant TPS to eligible Nepali nationals. We urge this designation to protect Nepalis from a forced return to danger.

AOC: We knew that the work couldn't be done and finished with just one person. So, we went back around down ballot and we changed and transformed and took on the entire Queen's machine and some of the Bronx machine. We ran young people, including an assemblyman by the name of Zohran Mamdani in 2020 and an assemblywoman by the name of Claire Valdez.

The sheer scale of the Nepal-Tibet flood would have overwhelmed even the most well-equipped governments.
"Melting glaciers and high seismic activity make the Himalayas a high risk zone. The tragedy in Nepal is a lesson for the world," writes Sonia Awale. time.com/article/2026/09/01/…
Trump addresses the situation in Nepal.
His words are hollow, but his actions & leadership is guaranteed to induce more climate disasters like Nepal’s, and worse, around the world, USA included.

A massive section of a Himalayan glacier broke away and plunged nearly 4,000 feet into a river valley, unleashing deadly flash floods across Nepal. Hundreds have been killed and many more are missing.
This is the climate crisis and it is only accelerating. Countries like Nepal contributed almost nothing to create this crisis, yet their people are suffering some of its most catastrophic consequences. But nowhere is immune. In Arizona, hundreds of people die every summer as a result of extreme heat.
Meanwhile, Trump and Republicans are handing Big Oil more tax breaks and giveaways to line the pockets of their fossil fuel donors. It’s all part of the corruption story. We need to be talking about it, but unfortunately the corruption and devastation caused by the Trump regime is so vast that its assault on climate often gets forgotten in the chaos.
We have no time left to waste. Climate change is a threat multiplier and we have to respond with the urgency it demands.

Tragedies like these are why a state like New York shouldn't be wavering on its climate responsibility. Build public renewables, put people before data centers, and take our utilities back from shareholders.

Those who want safety for the Himalayan region should commit to a swift and just energy transition—one that puts power in the hands of people, not corporations.

Thousands of New Yorkers woke yesterday to devastating news from home. Flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border has taken hundreds of lives, and the search for those still missing continues.
To our Nepali and Tibetan neighbors: this city knows what it means to grieve a place you left and still call home. You are not carrying this alone. New York City stands with you.
