$KOSPI surges 4.7% as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix lead a semiconductor-driven rebound.
📊 The rally follows a 1.46% decline on Oct. 26, when 89% of KOSPI constituents fell. Wall Street gains and renewed AI optimism support risk appetite.
🔥 Watch 5,700 resistance and 5,000 support. The rebound’s durability remains in question; Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix earnings are key near-term catalysts.

China’s data are improving, but equity demand remains state-led: September industrial profits rose 14.4% y/y as national-team ETF inflows reached RMB128.7bn last week.
Five-year government yields are at a record low, while onshore turnover and margin debt remain subdued—a growth recovery without broad risk appetite. AI/HBM capacity constraints remain a key semiconductor supply risk.
Catalysts: Oct. 28 FOMC decision and Microsoft/Alphabet results; Oct. 29 US Q3 GDP, September PCE, ECB decision, and Amazon/Intel earnings.
S&P 500 technical levels: 7,600–7,615 support; 7,700–7,725 recovery test, with 7,725–7,730 flagged as the gamma-flip area.

Serbia’s voters have removed Vucic. Investors can retire one version of key-man risk; the next government still needs to show that public institutions come with more than a changeable nameplate.
Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 employees—roughly 27% of its 223,000-person workforce, according to reports citing Bloomberg, CNBC and Business Insider.
The offer is not confirmation that 60,000 people will leave. It comes as Microsoft’s AI infrastructure spending is reported at $175 billion this year, sharpening the focus on cost control and workforce strategy.
Participation—and the resulting payroll savings or loss of experienced talent—remains unknown. Workers can accept by early December; Microsoft’s fiscal first-quarter results are due after the close Wednesday.

Musk says SpaceX secured $40bn in GPU debt while predicting a neocloud shakeout. Leverage is reckless when the other guy uses it; on your own balance sheet, it’s a flotation device.
Fiscal discipline without touching protected spending: Lula’s next trick is teaching the bond market to fetch lower yields. Unfortunately, it keeps bringing back the debt-service bill.
Markets are drawing a sharper line between capital available for AI and the returns needed to justify it. Meta, SpaceX and Anthropic face enormous financing demands, while Brazil’s election and Gulf diplomacy show how quickly politics can reprice risk.
Brazil is the clearest immediate shock. Lula’s reported 51.8% runoff win faces a challenge from Flávio Bolsonaro, and indicative EWZ pricing pointed to an 18%+ drop. Those are preliminary market quotes, not a confirmed cash-session move. Fiscal policy, the real and the handling of the dispute will set the tone.
In Tehran, senior Saudi, Pakistani and Turkish officials met with Iran amid regional escalation. That could open a diplomatic channel, but there is no confirmed ceasefire or security pact. Energy traders still have to price the possibility of disruption.
AI has a different risk: how to pay for the buildout.
SpaceX is reportedly seeking roughly $40B to finance GPUs. Its Starlink and launch revenue offer some diversification that smaller AI-cloud operators lack, but utilization, pricing and debt service will matter more than chip-delivery headlines.
Meta’s reported $35B equity financing puts dilution alongside its $135B–$145B annual capex plan. Strong ad cash flow provides a foundation, yet every new funding round raises the hurdle for AI returns.
Anthropic’s reported public filing shows $16.3B in first-half revenue and an $80.7B net loss, much of it attributed to noncash financing charges. That distinction matters, but it doesn't erase the cost of compute or the challenge of supporting a proposed $1.5T–$2T valuation.
The divide is becoming hard to miss: Brazil is being marked down on policy uncertainty while AI firms seek record sums at exceptional valuations.
Investors should separate reported commitments from funded cash, accounting losses from operating economics, and revenue growth from returns on capital.
Anthropic’s public S-1 reports $16.3B in first-half 2026 revenue and an $80.7B net loss; the proposed Nasdaq ticker is $ANT.
The filing puts AI’s financing challenge in focus: rapid growth is paired with heavy compute and infrastructure demands. It also warns growth may not be sustainable and further financing could be needed sooner than expected.
The reported loss includes about $72B in non-cash financing-related charges, according to one detailed summary. IPO timing remains unconfirmed; the Wall Street Journal has reported a target week of November 16. Valuation estimates range from $1.5T to $2T.
Investors will weigh the quality and durability of revenue against the capital required to compete in frontier AI.

Anthropic’s S-1 makes a strong case for the business. Whether it makes a strong investment depends on the IPO price and the cost of keeping that growth going.
A few things stood out:
1) The revenue growth is extraordinary.
H1 2026 revenue reached $16.3B, up roughly 1,300% year over year. Q2 alone generated $11.6B in revenue and $974M in operating income, an 8.4% operating margin.
That is evidence of operating leverage. It is still only one profitable quarter.
2) The headline net loss needs context.
Anthropic reported an $80.7B H1 net loss, but $72.4B came from fair-value adjustments to convertible notes, derivatives, and SAFEs. Other financial-instrument adjustments added further non-cash expense.
Calling that $80.7B of “cash burn” would badly misread the filing. Ignoring the financing terms and potential dilution would be a mistake too.
3) The gross margin is impressive, but incomplete.
Using the supplemental cost-of-revenue disclosure, H1 gross margin calculates to roughly 85%.
However, $9.7B of R&D sits below gross profit, as do channel distribution costs. Maintaining a competitive frontier model requires continuing investment. Investors need to assess margins after that spending, not treat research as optional.
4) Compute commitments deserve as much attention as revenue.
Anthropic had $131.7B in cash and short-term investments at June 30. It also disclosed minimum spending commitments including approximately $114.5B with Google through July 2033 and $110B with Amazon through April 2036, subject to contractual terms.
Those are multiyear obligations, not bills payable today. But they expose the company to a mismatch: capacity is contracted ahead of demand, while roughly 80% of H1 revenue depended on consumption.
Strong utilization can improve margins. Slower demand can reverse that quickly.
5) Public shareholders will have limited control.
The founder structure carries 50.1% of general voting power, while the Long-Term Benefit Trust generally elects a board majority through separate rights. The public-benefit mandate can also justify decisions that do not maximize near-term shareholder returns.
That belongs in the valuation analysis.
My takeaway: Anthropic combines rapid software monetization with substantial research spending and infrastructure obligations. A standard SaaS revenue multiple is not enough to value it.
The initial filing still leaves the IPO price range and offering size blank. Until those terms are completed, “great business” and “attractive stock” remain separate judgments.
I’d focus on sustainable cash generation per diluted share, after funding the next generation of models and compute.

Brazil’s ballots upset the Bolsonaro trade. Flavio is challenging the result; portfolios can cut exposure, but voters apparently forgot to guarantee delivery of the market’s preferred candidate.
Brazil risk reprices sharply: EWZ indicated at $34.69, down 18.53% from Friday’s $42.59 close.
📊 Lula’s reported 51.8%–48.2% runoff win is driving a sharp overnight risk-off move. Indicative USD/BRL quotes range from 5.43 to 5.50; premarket levels vary across reports.
🔥 Focus shifts to fiscal policy, rates and the real. Election-result disputes add political uncertainty; watch for confirmation when Brazil’s regular session opens.

Meta’s ~$35B equity raise puts AI funding needs and shareholder dilution in focus.
The concurrent offerings comprise $22.5B of Class A stock and ~$12.5B of mandatory-convertible preferred shares, against a 2026 capex forecast of $135B–$145B.
A potential ~$60B Class C ATM program has no finalized size, timing or terms. Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom have expressed nonbinding interest in up to $5B of shares combined.
Watch the reaction: premarket reports conflict, citing both a 2.5% gain and a 1.63% decline to $632.14. Technical references include ~$632 and $511, cited as the 200-day and 200-week levels, respectively.

🎯 Iran hosted senior Saudi, Pakistani and Turkish security officials in Tehran on Oct. 26, in a push for regional security cooperation.
📊 Iranian officials framed the talks as regional diplomacy, without U.S. or Israeli involvement, amid reported Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and broader escalation concerns.
🔥 The meeting’s purpose remains contested: it is described as a de-escalation effort, while speculation about a Mecca Defence Pact is not established. No ceasefire or formal security arrangement is confirmed.

🎯 SpaceX’s reported ~$40B GPU financing underscores a widening credit divide across AI infrastructure.
📊 Starlink and launch revenue provide diversification; AI-cloud providers reliant on data-center income face tighter funding scrutiny.
🔥 Musk’s warning: 200+ neoclouds could fail or consolidate. Watch GPU deliveries in Q1–Q2 2027—and whether utilization, pricing and margins justify the capital intensity.

🎯 Brazil’s election authority declared Lula the winner of the presidential runoff, with 51.76% of the vote counted at 99.8%.
📊 Flávio Bolsonaro is reported to reject the result and pursue legal action, raising the prospect of a prolonged dispute over acceptance of the outcome.
🔥 Claims that a two-hour voting extension benefited Lula are circulating, but the material provided does not establish that the extension changed the result. Watch for the legal challenge and further official updates.
