This Memorial Day hit different. I do not know if it is the year, the names, or just where I am in life. But I wanted to put my thoughts down.

Proud to have served with @JamesPerryNC in the NC Senate. Even prouder to call him my friend. The people lost a common sense champion in the senate today. We may not have always agreed on policy but “good people can disagree”. I knew from his first day in the senate that we would form a trust and friendship that goes outside the walls of the chamber and any partisan lines.
