Difficult to admit, but the best move is accepting this. I have been thinking deep about using my software skills to solve problems but of course I have not been able to identify a problem to solve. I have learnt software development and started working remotely and have little exposure to domains that needs solutions I can apply my skills. So yes, it does make sense to indulge in new things that exposed us to new challenges we can apply this problem solving skills to

The day Nigeria gets its power sector right, this is what will happen. A short thread 🧵

For businesses, the same money can go into expansion, better pay and more hiring. Manufacturers spent ₦782bn on their own power in 2023 and ₦1.34trn in 2025. Energy is about 40% of factory running costs, and we pay it back in prices.

Which business do you think would grow fastest with 24-hour power?

The naira ended October at ₦1,346/$, down from ₦1,329.50 at the end of September. That gives back about 42% of what it gained from July to September, though it's still stronger than July's ₦1,369. One soft month isn't a crisis. But with election spending picking up, November is the month to watch.
18
A bag of onions went from ₦30,000 in April to about ₦300,000 this October. That's 10x in six months. Farmers say we grew enough. We lost over half of it after harvest to poor storage, fires and bad seed. This price was made in the warehouse, not on the farm.
15
FG and NLC have agreed a ₦70,000 monthly transport support for workers, for six months from November. That's ₦420,000 per worker in total. Real relief, but it ends in April. The lasting fix is still the minimum wage, and there's no agreed date for that yet.

Tinubu has asked the National Assembly to approve a new external borrowing plan for 2026–2027: $20.5bn plus over €1bn. At this week's rate of about ₦1,368/$, the dollar part alone is roughly ₦28 trillion. The size matters less than three answers: which projects, at what interest rate, and when repayments start.
16
Many Nigerians are not poor because they are lazy. They wake early, work hard and still fall behind. Food inflation is still near 20%. A bag of rice averages about ₦70,800, more than the ₦70,000 minimum wage. Effort isn't the problem. Earnings are. What would change this fastest?

Friday, Nigeria's official FX market did a record $1.01bn in a single day. That's more than 3x Thursday's $316m. The CBN sold more dollars into the market. The naira still fell 1.28% to ₦1,361.84/$. The parallel market closed at ₦1,385. So supply showed up. Demand was bigger. Who wanted that many dollars in one day? Importers settling bills, foreign investors taking profit after a good run, or a few one-off payments? Analysts say two days of data isn't enough to call it capital flight. Next week's numbers will tell us if this was a spike or a shift. Which do you think it is?

The government says it has a 90-day plan to bring down the cost of living. What that should mean for you by around Jan 20: 🍚 Food prices easing, so your weekly market list stops jumping 🧾 Fewer double taxes on small businesses, so your hustle keeps more profit 🛣️ Roads and projects finished, so goods move cheaper and faster 💸 Support for struggling households The part I like most: a dashboard to show where fuel subsidy savings go. That's money we gave up. We deserve to see it work. Don't plan your life around promises. But watch these 90 days. Which one would change your life the most? 👇

An unprecedented day in my history with PHP. Some bumps along the way, but really proud of the @laravel team for working through the night ensuring all of our products and customers had patches available to them and, when possible, applied automatically. Given the advancement of agents, it's quite possible this won't be the last time this happens, and it's likely PHP won't be the only language that goes through this. We built some solid muscle today to do even better next time. Onward. 🫡

Half the arguments on this app aren't about the economy. They're about APC vs PDP. Learn how the economy works, and you'll see the policy behind the noise. Prices don't care about party colours. Follow me as I share content on the economy that educates you and sets you above others.

Lots of people want to leave Nigeria. For investors, it's the reverse. $635m in startup funding in the first nine months of 2026, more than double last year. Nigeria is Africa's No.1 destination for startup funding again.
