In my 30 years in the markets, I’ve seen plenty of ups and downs, corrections and periods of uncertainty. But my faith in India’s fundamentals has remained strong.
Look at the week gone by. The Nifty rose 10%, its strongest weekly gain since February 2021. The IMF projects India’s GDP to grow 7% in FY27, against global growth of 3.1% in CY26. And record monthly SIP investments of ₹32,490 crore reflect the confidence of Indian investors.
To me, that’s what makes India’s market resilient. We have strong fundamentals and the strength of domestic investors behind us. I believe this combination will continue to serve India well in the years ahead.
India’s resilience amid the global AI-led sell-off is striking. While other major markets have been under pressure, the Nifty is hitting a 3-month high.
India's strong domestic investor base is behind this. DIIs invested ₹8.55 lakh crore in the last one year, absorbing the record FII selling. And FIIs are now returning, with ₹52,000 crore in net buying in the last 2 weeks.
In the last 2 weeks:
• India: +10%
• Taiwan: -13.8%
• Korea: -8.8%
• Japan: -8.4%
That’s a powerful combination and a clear indicator of the strength and long-term potential of the Indian economy and capital markets.

Diwali always gives us a moment to pause and reflect.
Life, much like business, is full of change. There are things we learn along the way, moments that make us pause, and new beginnings that give us hope.
What matters is how we keep moving forward — with our values intact, a sense of purpose and faith in what lies ahead.
As we celebrate Diwali, may the light of the diyas bring hope, happiness and new beginnings into our lives.
Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Diwali!

In a civilization that has valued meditation and maun for centuries, we have become surprisingly immune to the hazards of noise pollution.
As Rohini writes in @Livemint, the state alone cannot enforce acoustic boundaries -- we need behavioural nudges and a true citizen movement for a quieter India.

From untruth to truth, and from darkness to light.
A timeless prayer from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, reminding us to keep seeking knowledge, clarity and a better way forward.
Diwali is a celebration of light, hope and new beginnings. And this year, as @AngelOne celebrates 30 years, the festival holds an even deeper meaning.
The milestone reminds me that progress is rarely a straight line. There have been periods of growth, moments of uncertainty, and many chances to learn and adapt.
There will always be uncertainty and change. What matters is how we learn, evolve and keep moving forward.
As we celebrate Diwali and welcome the new year, may we leave behind the uncertainties of the past and look ahead with renewed optimism, confidence and hope for brighter days.
Wishing you and your family a very Happy Diwali!

Major change in the stock brokers' leaderboard.
Angel One has overtaken Zerodha to become the 2nd largest stock broking app after Groww.
Zerodha has lost 32,435 net active users.
Sahi is one of the fastest growing stock brokers right now (on a low base), Increasing its active user base by 12% m-o-m.
For context: This active user number is the net of new additions and the older ones dropping off.
An active user is one who has placed atleast one trade in a year, as per NSE. @thearc_hq

Interesting one from NSE’s active client data for October 2026:
- Angel One has crossed Zerodha to become India’s second largest broker.
- Holds nearly 15% market share vs 14.5% for Zerodha
- Groww is still the largest with nearly 30% share. While ICICI direct is at number 4.
Good to see the mix settling between both disruptors and incumbents as against what the earlier narrative/fear was.

Somewhere in this photograph of the old BSE trading ring is a younger me—with spectacles, a moustache, plenty of confidence and probably more ambition than experience.
Looking at this picture today brings back so many memories.
I had left college and was finding my own way in life. The trading ring was an entirely different world—full of energy, excitement, opportunities and uncertainties.
I was young, curious, ambitious and perhaps a little overconfident. I believed I could figure things out, even when I didn’t fully understand what I was getting into.
Some decisions worked. Others failed badly. And many times, life reminded me how much I still had to learn.
Looking back, I realise that my journey was never about having all the answers. It was about having the confidence to begin, the humility to learn from mistakes, the courage to change direction and the conviction to stay when something started working.
More than three decades later, I still believe there is so much more to learn.
Perhaps that’s what life is really about. We are never finished learning, evolving and becoming better versions of ourselves.
Q2 earnings are out—a great quarter. Consolidated gross revenue up 18.9% YoY to ₹14.3 Bn; PAT up 58.2% YoY to ₹3.3 Bn.
Super proud of the team. Despite a challenging environment, they stayed focused on what matters, building for clients and shipping products that make investing simpler.
We have also started rolling out US stock investing, another step in making global investing more accessible for Indian investors.
The numbers matter, of course. But what matters more is the direction: across investing, wealth, credit, and global markets, we are building a platform that can grow with people through every stage of their financial journey.
AI will play a big role in what comes next, making investing smarter, more personal and more intelligent for millions of Indians.
India’s financial journey is long. We are playing the long game. And honestly, we are just getting started. 😊

Will AI make the rich richer, or democratise wealth creation?
At #TechSparks2026, @SharmaShradha posed this question to @kenghe, Group CEO of @AngelOne.
His answer centred on three things: access, information, and intelligence.
Technology has already made investing more accessible. AI could help bridge the remaining gaps in knowledge and analytical capabilities.
But as Ambarish pointed out, democratising access doesn't mean equalising wealth.
Shradha reinforced an equally important belief: successful entrepreneurs must bring others along.
The real opportunity isn't just creating more wealth. It's enabling more people to participate in creating it.
