Hudson @HudsonInstitute Enstitüsü’nde “Mekke Paktı mı, IMEC mi?” paneli yapıldı.
@kenmoriyasu moderatörlüğünde, panelistler İsrail’in ABD’deki Ekonomik İşler Bakanı Haim Martin, @asliaydintasbas @SonerCagaptay @Doranimated konuştu.
Haim Martin, İsrail’in Mekke Paktı’nın tarafı olmadığını hatırlattı.
Çağaptay, paktın İran ve İsrail’i bilerek dışarıda bıraktığını söyledi.
Martin "İran 1978 öncesi güçlü ortaktı; İsrail her ortağa açık" şeklinde cevap verdi.
I found it really fascinating that India featured so prominently in our discussion about Mecca Pact vs IMEC.
NOW: @kenmoriyasu, @Doranimated, Chaim Martin, @asliaydintasbas, and @SonerCagaptay discuss the Mecca Pact, the India–Middle East–Europe Corridor, and what the competing visions mean for the future of the Middle East. xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1nGnRBwEb…

From Gwadar to the Golden Horn, the Mecca Pact unites Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in a Sunni security bloc.
From Pune to Piraeus, IMEC envisions a corridor linking India, the UAE, Israel and Europe.
Two visions for the Middle East. Which will prevail?
Come join us tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Eastern at @HudsonInstitute !

This should clear the way for Aliyev to attend the OTS summit in Ankara. A pragmatic move by Erdoğan.
Had the rift continued, the Organization of Turkic States risked being eclipsed by C6 — the five Central Asian states plus Azerbaijan, without Türkiye.

The 2023 Hiroshima Quad summit: 47 minutes. How long will Manila’s last?
“If the leaders of the US, Japan, India and Australia were in the same venue and they didn’t hold a Quad, that would send quite the negative signal,” I told @khushboo228 of @SCMPNews.

The Asia Society is excited to announce a new, permanent home in Washington, D.C. for its Policy Institute and Center for China Analysis at the Blaine Mansion, a historic building in Dupont Circle at the intersection of think tank and Embassy rows.
President and CEO of the Asia Society, @MrKRudd, said that “Asia Society's purchase of the Blaine Mansion was made possible by a lead gift from Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Blackstone and Asia Society Global Trustee. Asia Society is deeply grateful to Mr. Schwarzman and the many Global Trustees and institutional supporters of the Society whose help made this new home possible.”
This was the best seminar I have attended in a while.

My colleague @Doranimated has turned his thought-provoking tweets into a compelling essay that gets to the heart of NatCon thinking on Israel -- and what’s at stake for American conservatism.
I hope it gets the wide readership it deserves.

The C5+1 joint statement hits all the right notes. It is substantive, diplomatic, and correctly frames U.S. engagement as expanding Central Asia’s options, rather than excluding or replacing China.
Yet something feels missing. There is no mention of Trump. No mention of TRIPP.
These are arguably the two developments that distinguish the administration’s approach to the region.

For much of the post-Deng Xiaoping era, China largely adapted to an international system shaped by Western powers.
But for Xi Jinping, "it is less about reforming China to fit the existing order and more about changing the order to fit China," @kenmoriyasu told @TheAstanaTimes.

Rubio tells C5 counterparts that the United States wants to build a critical-minerals supply chain with Central Asia so that it does not “ever have to rely on risky foreign partners or even adversaries.”
