Agents for Me but not for Thee — such behavior seriously hampers the usefulness of personal AI agents, and needs to stop 😩

Ive been the technical lead on many different projects. I’ve spent quite a few years on call. Probably more years than you’ve been alive.

Back in Singapore for the summer and taking public transit a lot. So many people are mobile zombies glued on short form videos while sitting, walking. Elderly consume Chinese AI-generated short form dramas and misinformation. Wild.

A slide from our last all hands. I've also started to call out this behavior publicly in Slack channels. Tired of consuming workslop

Lee Kuan Yew was a genius
Lee Kuan Yew: “Air conditioning was a most important invention for us, perhaps one of the signal inventions of history. It changed the nature of civilization by making development possible in the tropics. Without air conditioning you can work only in the cool early-morning hours or at dusk. The first thing I did upon becoming prime minister was to install air conditioners in buildings where the civil service worked. This was key to public efficiency."

I think that in an AI-native team, - ICs should start thinking like managers: how to delegate tasks to agents, how to set standards & verify output - Managers should start thinking like ICs: how to be more hands-on builders instead of just doing people management

Feels like companies need a “no AI slop” policy. It’s trivial now to generate multi-page docs that contain useful gems alongside unnecessary slop. Without this policy, people spend less time creating but more time reading each other’s AI slop.

BREAKING: President Trump extends the US ceasefire with Iran indefinitely.

I know it's 'early' but it's slightly ironic that the first step to personalized superintelligence doesn't retain or build context across conversations. Curious why not, @alexandr_wang @AIatMeta

BREAKING: President Trump announces that the US will be suspending attacks on Iran for a period of 2 weeks on the condition that Iran will be reopening the Strait of Hormuz. "This will be a double sided ceasefire," Trump says.

The petrodollar was built on a simple 1974 agreement: the US provides military protection for the Gulf, and in exchange, oil is priced exclusively in US Dollars.  Now the US is creating the conflict making it hard to get oil. Defeats the purpose, eh?
