It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and boundless passion for life, she enchanted fans worldwide and inspired future stars. We say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us her greatest work; her music. Tina, we will miss you dearly.

Zion Wilkins concluded a fantastic freshman season today @ the IHSA XC State Finals with a great effort and a very valuable learning experience. He will grow from this experience and be ready to represent our program in future State Final appearances. Great job Zion!!

People are messy; therefore, relationships will be messy. Expect messiness--and that's why no one can expect lasting marriages, friendship, or communities without knowing how to give and receive forgiveness.

I keep hearing “don’t dig up in doubt what you planted in faith” playing over in my head. Thank you God for the reminder.

Many Christians think it’s safe to use our own concept of compassion rather than God’s. Apparently, His seems insufficient for the times. If that’s the case, then others can also use their own limited concept of justice rather than God’s robust justice imperative.

Annoying thing I’ve experienced a lot lately. Dinner tonight w my kids sitting next to a mom dad and son who FaceTimed the daughter mid-meal and proceeded to chat with her (without headphones) through their meal. Invest in headphones, folks.

Just saw a man park, walk into a movie theater, walk out two minutes later with a large popcorn and a fountain soda, get in his car, and drive away. A hero of our time.

Some well chosen carols have more gospel truth than many contemporary songs sung in churches, so don’t become passive & turned off in actual worship if singing them today.

Individuals who want to believe that there is no fulfillment in love, that true love does not exist, cling to these assumptions because this despair is actually easier to face than the reality that love is a real fact of life but is absent from their lives. bell hooks

Remember. Always remember that 58 years ago today four precious girls were killed in Birmingham, Alabama by white supremacists who planted a bomb in a church on Sunday morning. But also remember this .......

Remembering this brother with the bible in his hand. Looking into his eyes and seeing George's humanity. Praying for his family; honoring his life.

Oh, that George Floyd were still alive. But I’m thankful for accountability. The work continues. Justice is a continuum. And America must bend with the moral arc of the universe, which bends toward justice.
