In the long run, playing it safe is more dangerous than taking risks. Playing it safe builds in the status quo to the point where it can't be overcome.

My Macbook Air started acting weird and burning more battery. I got paranoid it was pnwed, so I wiped it and now resetting everything. Customizing a new setup is not as much fun as it used to be. I just want to get back to work.

Giving Ghostty Terminal a try on my Macbook. I'm coming from iTerm, which I've used for at least a decade. Ghostty is really nice, but not sure it's worth the effort. Where effort == endlessly scrolling through the themes to find the *perfect* one ;-p

Hrm. So maybe we should start savagely calling out AI slop posts on LinkedIn? I mean, for the good of the platform
OK this is a HILARIOUS story I heard from inside Meta: You know when Director+ folks write stuff that is clearly AI slop? But everyone is too polite to say anything. Happened a ton inside Meta's internal "LinkedIn" (Workplace**) BUT morale is so low that lots of devs no longer gave a damn. So they started to call out, in the comments. Savage comments, just no longer caring. And the result is... these AI-written slop posts are... gone from Workplace! ** it's not really an internal LinkedIn, more like their own version of Facebook, but is used to communicate projects, ideas, learnings etc. This comparison I felt more apt, given the AI slop happening especially on LinkedIn (that LinkedIn themselves encourage by offering to AI write your posts)

I can't help but think that Anthropic has been exhibiting the righteous behavior that quickly leads to group think. In fact, that's true of most of the pilled tech-bro culture right now. Probably an opportunity to do things a bit differently, if you're so inclined.
I talk to engineers at other companies every day and hear the same thing: one person is 10x'ing their output with Claude but the rest of the org hasn't caught up. Watching teams adopt AI, I keep seeing the same 4 steps. I mapped them out here: Steps of AI Adoption claude.ai/code/artifact/bfdf…

We're getting there. Won't be long before we escape the proprietary LLM stack for coding. Programmers have never liked getting boxed into proprietary dev tools.
Kimi K3 is worth testing. It pushes open weights models quite significantly forward. If you interact with it, it feels like a proper large model. And the vision part is really good.

I love CLI and even good GUI interfaces. But, dangit, I am really tired of working in terrible TUI interfaces. Maybe the TUI concept is fine, and it's the recent implementations that are bad. But, honestly, I can't remember ever working in a TUI that felt good outside of a read-eval-print-loop
