Organizing won't heal your trauma. Using that as fuel, rather than a commitment to liberation, is a recipe for burn-out & self-centered busy work. It's an obstacle to struggling together. We must work on ourselves as we work with others to make the world work for everyone.
One of the coolest moments in my life was getting a kiss on the top of my head by Lula, after being told to tell Bernie hello (still on my to do list) ‼️

Congratulations to Lula on his extraordinary reelection victory in the Brazilian presidential election.
Lula has stood up for Brazilian workers & democracy — and will continue to do so in the next four years.

What a mess. Polling has supposedly closed in Brazil - and no word from Brazil's electoral authorities about whether voting hours will be extended because of apparent sabotage of public transport in at least 10 states

A major United Nations climate report says, for the first time, that the world has lost its chance to limit global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. That was a key goal of the 2015 Paris climate accord aimed at limiting the worst effects of the climate crisis.
The annual Emissions Gap Report published Wednesday still found that steep cuts to deforestation and greenhouse gas pollution could limit the severity and duration of the expected "overshoot" of the 1.5 degree target.
The report comes ahead of global climate talks next month in Turkey, known as COP31.

One month ago, I sat down with President Lula to discuss how government serving poor and working people. Weeks later, Brazil took a historic step: a 40-hour workweek, at least two days off and no cuts to pay for more than 30 million workers.
Workers fought for decades to win the five-day workweek in America. Brazilian workers have fought for this victory, too. I congratulate them on this achievement.
Working people deserve time to live, not just work. Building a better future means giving people more of their lives back. And we’ll keep fighting for it.

"AIPAC announced on Wednesday that, after three cycles of direct political involvement through its political action committee AIPAC PAC, it will no longer issue endorsements or directly earmark contributions to candidates, but said it will remain involved in political organizing and fundraising in other ways, including with its influential super PAC."
And who is being held accountable for the deaths of migrants in ICE detention?
To echo the concluding sentiment, jail time here won’t stop this but immigration reform would be a start.
A federal judge sentenced a Guatemalan man to 30 years in prison for his role in the deaths of 53 immigrants found inside a tractor-trailer four years ago in San Antonio. Law enforcement officials described the tragedy as the “country’s deadliest human smuggling event.” texastribune.org/2026/10/21/…

Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones are supporting “Normal People” author Sally Rooney after her books were banned in the U.K. due to her support for Palestine Action:
• The “Normal People” stars, along with Jessie Buckley and numerous other artists, signed an open letter stating: “Sally Rooney is a writer, not a terrorist. Her books must be available to the public.”
• Last year, Rooney pledged to use her book royalties to support Palestine Action, a pro-Palestinian group designated as a terrorist organization by U.K. authorities.
• Rooney now says efforts to publish her work in the U.K. “could now constitute a serious criminal offence.”
