Black American Screamin' Jay Hawkins born Jalacy J. Hawkins on July 18, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio. He died February 12, 2000, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. He was an American R&B and blues musician, singer, and actor. He is widely recognized as an early pioneer of SHOCK ROCK.
His Signature Song that he is best known for is his 1956 hit "I Put a Spell on You", which was supposed to be a smooth balladbut after Hawkins and his band recorded it in an inebriated state, it was recorded with wild screams, grunts, and groans. The newly released raw track became a massive underground and commercial success (selling over a million copies), though its overt wildness and sexuality got it banned from many radio stations.

A good person's final breaking point often comes when their empathy runs out. After endlessly understanding, forgiving, and giving people the benefit of the doubt, something shifts. They stop making excuses for behaviour that keeps hurting them and begin seeing things as they truly are. When empathy is exhausted, clarity takes its place, and the love that once made them stay is no longer enough.

Empaths are choosing themselves now. They're setting boundaries, protecting their peace, and no longer feeling guilty for putting their own needs first. The old version of them is gone. The game has changed.
