This is a bad faith statement of condolence. The second half of that sentence is what matters. The first part, starting with"I," is an attempt use what happened to signal your virtue.
It isn't about you. Stop qualifying opposition to political violence by making sure everyone knows that you have all the correct opinion because you thought he was awful and you aren't like him. We don't need to know that you are levitating above the rest of us because you are able to set aside your own revulsion with him to express opposition to political assassinations.
It was a brutal, politically motivated murder. You stand against it or you don't. It has nothing to do with what you think of Charlie Kirk's opinions.

I love my Party, but tonight was a new low. I get silence on this or that policy, and the raw politics of the base’s anger. But, for not a single D to stand to applaud a boy’s brave battle with cancer, or a man’s admission to West Point, was a classless disgrace.
And maddeningly, while overall Trump’s speech was politically good, there were political holes that could be exploited, juvenile taunts that voters hate, and comical lies. But much of that will be buried by our self-inflicted stupidity.
