As hard as it is to believe, 10 years ago, both Risa Hontiveros and Martin Romualdez finished in the Top 12 in Davao City during their senatorial runs. Hontiveros did well in most of rural and northern Davao, with Romualdez doing well in the Marilog, Dumoy, and Poblacion areas.

Interestingly, Romualdez won in the richer, more educated Poblacion while Risa won in the poorer Agdao, home to the infamous Barpa (Barrio Patay). Today the results would probably be reversed
