Dennard Wilson just raved about Arvell Reese's hustle on this play. When I spoke to Reese about it, he was mostly frustrated that he missed the sack.
"I should have got a free lay-up sack. I beat the guard. I was supposed to get the sack, but I jumped. Then I'm like, 'Dang, I just missed the sack.' At first I was chasing (Stroud), then I saw him throw the ball and I started running to the ball."
Reese downplayed his effort.
"It was good hustle. But it could have been a better play if I just got the sack."
The lesson Reese learned is not to jump next time he's in that spot.
"I'm done doing that. I'm never jumping again. That's a wide-open sack I pulled off of."
