“Life is not easy. We all have problems-even tragedies-to deal with, and luck has nothing to do with it. Bad luck is only the superstitious excuse for those who don't have the wit to deal with the problems of life. ”
― Joan Lowery Nixon, In The Face of Danger

Sometimes, we mistake the excitement of an instant connection for the depth of a lasting bond. The warmth and closeness we feel at the beginning may fade just as quickly when the initial excitement wears off and reality sets in. A strong first impression may bring people together, but only time, understanding and consistency can turn that connection into a lasting relationship.
The Raza Ali Commission, headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial’s report highlights how his murder investigation was compromised by police negligence, procedural violations, mishandling of evidence and a premature attempt to frame the death as suicide. It warns that an active cover-up cannot be ruled out and questions the failure to hold senior officials accountable. When those tasked with upholding the law undermine the search for truth, justice itself is endangered. A very thorough report which has been written with great expertise and in a professional manner. Its recommendations need to be fully implemented for justice to prevail.

Did you ever see the customers in health - food stores? They are pale, skinny people who look half - dead. In a steak house, you see robust, ruddy people. They're dying, of course, but they look terrific.

Adherence to the law was expected even from the high and mighty in the good old days. My late father once recounted that, in the early 1960s, he saw the late Hizbullah Khan, his senior colleague and the City Magistrate of Peshawar, walking alongside his bicycle on Khyber Road Peshawar late one evening. When my father asked why he wasn’t riding it, he replied that his bicycle’s light wasn’t working and, since cyclists needed a functioning light at night, he didn’t want to risk a fine from a traffic constable.

The best kind of people are the ones who come into your life, and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people who believe in you so wholeheartedly that, with time, you begin to believe in yourself, too. The people who love you, simply for being you. They are once-in-a-lifetime kind of people.
Sometimes, we tell people what they want to hear, not because we wish to spare their feelings, but because we lack the courage to confront them with the truth. We let them believe what suits them, even when we know our words are far removed from what we actually think.
