They hate each other this way
Rich Koreans have mistresses in both China and Japan. Rich Chinese have Japanese and Korean mistresses and rich Japanese have Chinese and Korean mistresses. It’s all circular in Asia really when it comes to adultery.

Caixin: "China’s banks are being encouraged to steer more credit toward technology, green industries and small businesses. But as overall demand for loans weakens, the policy push is creating increasing competition to lend to companies that may need their money least, while some healthy businesses outside favored sectors face greater difficulty obtaining loans." caixinglobal.com/2026-10-30/…

In a story about rising Chinese consumption Xinhua notes that in the first three quarters of 2026, "domestic consumption contributed nearly half of economic growth, driving GDP growth up by 2.1 percentage points". What it doesn't say is that excluding twice during the COVID years, the only time China has posted a lower consumption contribution to GDP growth year was in 2024, when consumption contributed 44.9% of GDP growth, just a little less than the 46.7% if has contributed so far this year. On the other hand in the last ten years, consumption has contributed on average 51.3% of GDP growth, and last year it contributed 52.0% of GDP growth, both of which are still well below the global average of 75%. Rather than suggest that consumption is recovering in 2026, in other words, it would be more correct for Xinhua to suggest that it is lagging more than ever. english.news.cn/20261031/050…

The decline of nuclear is due to the industry basically coming to a halt and other energy sources growing in use. It's provided a stable degree of energy, it's just not growing much due to regulatory burdens.
Good news: Renewables are up! Fossil fuels are down!

Just got a flu vaccine and a Covid booster from an Indian pharmacist. They had a promotion for 10% off groceries if you got a vaccine. He gave me the coupon, I said but I got two vaccines. He said ah I’m only supposed to give one but he gave me the second one anyway. What a wonderful people.

We need some of this green chart for nutrition.
As recently as 20 years ago, only 83 % of primary school age kids were actually attending school. Learning outcomes were also poor. A significant % of kids had to drop out of *primary school* for financial reasons When I was in 1st standard (grade) in Mumbai (1998), the attendance rate was even lower. Young kids not being in school was so normalized that my private school had informal employees (teacher's assistants) who had kids my age (7) tagging along in the school assisting them with their jobs. Basically, schooling was a “scarce” resource in India. There was no expectation that every child would be schooled

Good article about how China has gone massively into debt and kicked millions of people off their property to build pointless bridges and underused airports and high-speed trains so that gullible people on websites like this one think communism is cool. economist.com/china/2026/10/…
