The shooting happened on the street where I was staying in Krakow. But when it happened, I wasn’t there. I was visiting Auschwitz.
I only had to collect my luggage when I came back. They had closed the street. And I was escorted in and out of the hotel by heavily armed police.
I was traveling at night. It’s only today that I got to watch and comprehend the extent of what happened.
