Absolutely gutted. #Lansdowne
All this money being spent to bailout the rich while OC Transpo is cutting routes and a record number of people sleep outside in #Ottawa each night. How is this responsible spending? It's not even ethical.
Replying to @HorizonOttawa
Lansdowne 2.0 has been approved a $420 million handout to a P3 and property developer.
This has been one of the least popular projects we've ever seen in this city.
The process did not lead itself to a clear eyed discussion.
Seeing hints of Watson today.
see you soon, toronto! ✍🏼👋🏼✨

BREAKING: “It was a mistake to open the Greenbelt,” Premier Doug Ford said, adding that the land opened to development would be returned to the protected area — which he says he will never touch again. #onpoli via @EmmaMci @fatimabsyed thenarwhal.ca/ford-reverses-…

Ontario Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk just dropped an explosive 95-page audit of the Ford government’s decision to open huge swaths of Greenbelt land to development. Turns out, developers influenced those cuts — and non-elected political staff led the way. thenarwhal.ca/ontario-greenb…
the LRT isn’t working at the moment (again!) & we’re having to fight to have a 2.4km stretch of the parkway car-free? really feels like our mayor’s focus is not in the right spot…
The debate over closing a specific stretch of Queen Elizabeth Driveway is not about whether or not the city supports active transportation. It’s about where and when are the best opportunities for it.

Le débat sur la fermeture d'un tronçon précis de la promenade Reine-Élizabeth ne porte pas sur la question de savoir si la ville soutient ou non le transport actif. Il s'agit de savoir où et quand les meilleures opportunités se présentent.
extremely anecdotal but: i commute to & from the office along the QED. the brief window when it is closed to cars is extremely appreciated! i counted dozens of cyclists, walkers, runners, scooters, skateboarders, roller skaters, etc. on my bike ride home. thanks to the @NCC_CCN!

“Student charged in University of Waterloo stabbing police say was hate-motivated”
This is the consequence of rising anti-trans hate. This is the consequence mainstreaming anti-trans rhetoric.

#McKenneyForMayor
Hey Team McKenney! I'm looking over the numbers for the GOTV on Monday, we only have 150, but we need 450 volunteers to win this election.
Here's my ask; can we blow this post up and get the sign ups to 250 by the end of the day? I think @cmckenney would be grateful. 1/3

Trees. Mature trees. Beautiful, carbon-absorbing trees. Cut down by the City. For a parking lot. This is Ottawa in 2022. Not so green or climate conscious. Makes me sad and angry. Think about who has supported Watson in these decisions.

so grateful to @cmckenney for representing the ward in the streets during this council meeting (while being heckled by convoy supporters & having to put up w/ the mayor using the wrong pronouns 🙄). thank you, councillor.
Councillor @cmckenney is outside on the street fighting for their residents where @JimWatsonOttawa hasn’t stepped foot. #ResignWatson #Ottawa #Ottnews
small but mighty group still out there. proud of these centretowners.
