Braelyn Hollensbeโs tumor is a diffuse hemispheric glioma, H3 G34-mutant. About 10% of her tumor couldnโt be removed because it sat too close to vital areas of the brain. After her third DCVax-L vaccination, her activated immune system cleared that residual tumor, and she now has no evidence of disease (NED).
Imagine what DCVax-L could do in melanoma. The world will see its full potential when $NWBO runs a basket trial across several hard-to-treat cancers. LP is just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger.

Braelyn Hollensbe was 16 when her family was told she had a brain cancer almost nobody gets: diffuse hemispheric glioma, H3 G34-mutant. The World Health Organization gave that tumor a name of its own in 2021. No proven treatment has ever been built for it.
Three years of surgery, infection and radiation. Then, in March, a UCLA surgeon removed most of the tumor and preserved the tissue. The names had never given her family a plan. The tissue did.
Her tumor went to England before she did. A laboratory there broke it down and used it to teach dendritic cells grown from her own blood. In July, at King's College Hospital in London, she received a vaccine that existed for exactly one person. In August came the checkpoint drug: vaccine first, then the brakes released.
On September 15 her mother posted the sentence she had waited almost three years to write: ๐ก๐ผ ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ.
Braelyn is 19 and in college. She still flies to London for boosters, because no route yet exists to give her her own cells at home.
One case proves nothing on its own. The record behind her vaccine is not one case.
Dendritic cells are the immune system's teachers. They take up tumor material, cut it into fragments, select what the patient's own T cells can see and deliver the order to attack. A tumor's sequence can list its antigens. It cannot teach them. Antigen information and a prepared instructor are different contributions, and in a patient whose cancer and treatment have depleted the immune system, the missing piece is the instructor.
DCVax-L brings the removed tumor to those cells and returns them loaded. DCVax-Direct brings prepared cells into a tumor a needle can reach, where they learn from the tumor as it is that day. Both are made for a population of one. This platform has practiced rare-disease medicine, one patient at a time, since its first trial.
Glioblastoma: no new drug has extended survival in newly diagnosed disease since 2005. Three large checkpoint trials, 1,645 patients, no survival benefit. On that ground, the Phase 3 program's published analyses reported 13% of vaccinated newly diagnosed patients alive at five years against 5.7% in the external comparison group. This year, matching vaccinated patients one by one to patient-level records from other trials strengthened the median-survival finding.
Across 2,151 doses: five serious events judged possibly related. No autoimmune reactions. And a UCLA series reported this fall found that giving the vaccine before a checkpoint inhibitor, not after, more than doubled median survival in a small cohort.
One of the earliest trial participants, diagnosed in 2003 as he was about to become a father, was described this year as a 23-year survivor. That is what durable survival means.
FDA holds its public meeting on the Rare Disease Framework. The meeting approves nothing. It helps shape what the agency will ask for. That is exactly why it matters.
The evidence exists: survival analyses that held under patient-level comparison, a measured safety record, product function tied to patient outcomes, manufacturing already built, and 2,151 doses of human experience. What must come next is a written answer to three questions. What evidence is still required? Who will produce it? When will it be judged?
@FDA @FDA_KyleD: name the evidence, name the producer, name the date. A treatment made from one person's cells deserves a review built for it: safety, manufacturing, endpoints that measure a life, and a route to access, in one conversation.
Braelyn's family answered the access question by crossing an ocean. The next family should not have to.
Rarity is a fact about how often a label is applied. It must never become an excuse for how little a life is allowed to matter.

More than a decade ago this
report aired about DCVax treating brain and other cancers.
This is the non toxic treatment @HollensbeAmanda & @HollensbeBrae have to travel to London for.
The DCVax platform was created by an American company.
Dr. Marc Siegel:
โ.. it could be the billion dollar trillion dollar answer weโve been looking for.
The latest in cancer vaccines is using the tumor itself to trigger the immune system to kill your cancer like a common infection.
Itโs known as DCVax. It could be a game changer in battling life-threatening cancer of all kinds.
Early clinical trials have been impressive.โ
Dr Lee Tessler
Long Island Brain Tumor Center
โEssentially what it does is after we remove the tumor we were able to take that tumor, introduce that tumor to the patientโs own immune system and then the patientโs own immune system fights that tumor.โ
Dr Siegel:
โPatients with a deadly brain tumor known as Glioblastoma have seen their survival time more than double.
The final studies before approval for brain and prostate cancer are being conducted in trial sites all over the country.
Each cancer vaccine is personalized based on your own tumor.
It takes just eight days to make enough for three to a five year treatment.
Itโs cost-effective compared with earlier vaccines and the side effects especially when compared to standard treatments are minimal.
Questions:
Why was there no media follow up?
Why didnโt doctors at two prestigious US cancer centers present DCVax-L as an option for Braelynโs brain cancer?
Instead Braelyn was told she had months to live.
Braelynโs mom didnโt listen and this week Braelyn was told DCVax-L is working and thereโs โno evidenceโ of the disease

๐จ๐บ๐ธ BRAELYNโS STORY JUST MADE FOX BUSINESS!
What an incredible moment for our family!
Today on Varney & Co., Stuart Varney brought up Steve Mooreโs recent Rasmussen Reports article about Braelyn and the barriers seriously ill Americans face in accessing promising experimental treatments!
Steve shared Braelynโs story and called out the FDA, saying itโs CRUEL to withhold promising investigational treatments from desperately ill patients.
Varney agreed, arguing that patients facing terminal illnesses should have the freedom to accept the risks of experimental treatments without liability concerns preventing companies from providing them.
Then Steve asked a powerful question:
โWhatever happened to my body, my choice?โ
He also pointed out that President Trump supports Right to Try, yet significant barriers remain between patients and the treatments they desperately need.
THIS is the conversation weโve been fighting to bring into the national spotlight!
Our 19-year-old daughter is attending college, and her latest MRI shows no evidence of cancer recurrence. Yet we still have to travel to ENGLAND for her ongoing DCVax-L treatmentsโdeveloped right here in AMERICA!
We are so incredibly grateful to Steve Moore and Stuart Varney for bringing attention to Braelynโs story and, more importantly, to the countless patients who deserve a fighting chance.
Patients facing life-threatening illnesses shouldnโt have to fight their own government for the opportunity to fight for their lives.

Is your pension or life insurance betting on chips that turn into scrap metal before the loan is paid off?
โ..The reality driving these capital requirements is that the cost of chips is two to four times that of the data centers that house them, yet their depreciation period is roughly five to six years.
For example, in Nscale's flagship project in West Virginia, the accompanying power plant is projected to cost $6.5 billion, while the data center and related equipment will require an additional $18 billion.
Meanwhile, the cost of GPUs alone amounts to $47 billion

@FDAโs October 28 meeting is a concrete opening for DCVax-L and DCVax-Direct.
Rare cancers bring small patient populations, limited time and difficult evidence questions. Patient-specific cell therapies add complex manufacturing. FDAโs Rare Disease Framework initiative puts those problems into the same conversation: attainable evidence, patient input, coordinated review and risk-based manufacturing assessment. The framework is being developed; existing approval standards still apply.
One platform strategy. Two product-specific evidence cases.
DCVax-L brings an existing Phase III clinical record. Northwestโs 2026 external comparisons using individual-patient data report median-survival differences of 3.4โ6.3 months in newly diagnosed glioblastoma. Those analyses deserve direct FDA assessment alongside the complete trial history, including crossover and the unsuccessful original progression endpoint, and the bridge from studied manufacturing to the proposed commercial process.
DCVax-Direct brings a different clinical opportunity: prepared dendritic cells are placed into the tumor, where they are intended to acquire its antigens. A tumor that cannot be removed may still be safely reachable for injection. Its early human study provides safety and biological observations on which to build. Define the exact product version, establish comparability with earlier manufacturing, and bring FDA a focused rare-cancer study with clear endpoints.
The patientโs tumor information varies. Cell preparation, functional assays, manufacturing controls and delivery infrastructure can carry forward when their applicability is demonstrated. That is a substantive platform advantage worth developing: each small population can help answer the next clinical question with valid prior knowledge already in place.
Cells collected โ product manufactured โ batch released โ dose administered โ outcomes followed.
Product release and actual treatment are separate events. Link the dated records, preserve product and process versions, and include patients who deteriorate before dosing. Otherwise, an analysis can credit treatment with survival that occurred before treatment began.
This is how existing clinical and compassionate-use experience can become usable evidence. Recover complete cohorts, establish credible comparisons and measure outcomes patients value.
Plausible-mechanism reasoning should identify what the product must do and what to measure, with FDA agreement on its application. A Commissionerโs National Priority Voucher is a separate option to assess for an eligible, prepared program. Each belongs in a concrete regulatory strategy with its own requirements.
Public meeting: October 28, 2026, 1โ5 p.m. Eastern.
Written comments: October 28โDecember 11, docket FDA-2026-N-12214.
Northwest should submit a specific case for both products and pursue product-specific FDA meetings in parallel. Bring patients, clinical evidence, functional measurements and manufacturing into one accountable development plan.
