Teen levels of physical, mental and social health are historically low. Screens serve as a handy scapegoat, but the fact is we’ve built an extremely hostile public realm.
Reverse that trend, and they’ll jump at the chance to get outside, move their bodies and meet their friends.

A luxurious public realm of dignified train stations, tree lined streets, and grand buildings is the moniker of a successful, confident, and optimistic society.

There’s surely a day of reckoning coming for the BBC political operation. They have totally lost their way. They have relentlessly platformed Farage & Reform. UKIP before that. They made his career. They have normalised his vile opinions & never call him out. Why?

This is excellent from @polblonde. Men perpetrate these terrible murders. Then other men go & commit violence in the name of female victims. Funnily enough, those “avenging” men only want to speculate on the race/religion of the attacker & never discuss his sex.

Birmingham’s leaders may have conceded the city is indeed facing a “road safety emergency”, but this situation has been hiding in plain sight for decades. At every demo @for_birmingham has held, people have talked about their lives being blighted & saddened by dangerous driving

29 tickets issued to 100 spot checks?!
This is why we can no longer rely on asking drivers nicely to improve their behaviour. Dangerous driving is endemic. We need to design the heck out of roads so that anything over 30 is physically impossible in the Birmingham road network
Further speed checks conducted today by D unit Traffic, we have checked over 100 drivers with 29 tickets being issued for speed, mobile phones and seatbelts #ANPRInterceptor #fatal4 #Birmingham
