I watched a buddy of mine go from $30K/mo to $600K/mo in just 6 months.
But the way he grew that makes 0 sense to me.
Francisco, founder of Nurse Babes. Sells orthopedic sneakers to nurses. Now pulling $5M+ annually with 565,000+ customers.
He started as a dropshipper, literally. Tested different products, found one that clicked with nurses, and went all in on building a real brand around it.
We have a shared Slack and talk every couple of weeks. TxtCart's been with him since the beginning, powering his cart recovery and campaigns. I've watched the whole thing unfold.
Through our platform alone, he's recovered $141K with a 13.9x ROI and 30% recovery rates.
And honestly? The way he runs it drives me insane.
He's very laissez-faire and hands-off.
Brought on an agency and gave them total ownership. Hires someone for ops, doesn't hover at all.
Almost to a detriment in my opinion, but it works for him.
Most founders at his stage are buried in the details, they:
- Test everything
- Review every metric
- Manage every piece of the business themselves
Francisco's in Puerto Rico running a $5M+ brand without losing his mind over any of it.
I'm not saying his approach is the blueprint for everyone. It's probably not.
But watching someone scale like that while staying this detached from the day-to-day is wild.
Most founders would've burned out or imploded by now.
He just keeps winning.
New partnership: TxtCart Γ @foxsellapp π€
FoxSell helps ecommerce brands build mix-and-match bundles, build-your-own boxes, and volume offers.
But a carefully built cart can still be left behind over a product or shipping question.
TxtCart follows up with SMS subscribers and gives them a conversation they can reply to. Our AI Agent answers questions and helps them return to checkout.

Q4 is expensive enough without overpaying for SMS.
Love seeing this reaction from one of our customers after seeing how much they saved switching from a legacy provider to TxtCart π
If you're still paying legacy SMS rates heading into BFCM, might be time to shop around.
Hint, 40-50% off Klaviyo and Omnisend SMS bills.

Last month's churn report can't save last month's customers.
Use it to find the next risks: poor activation, plan mismatch, recurring friction.
Then assign a real action to each account and check what changed next month. Otherwise you're just documenting losses.
Amidst all the chaos in the Shopify app ecosystem lately, figured it's a good time to remind everyone what we're doing at TxtCart.
We're the only remaining major SMS platform exclusively dedicated to SMS and ecommerce. No email, no distractions. Just SMS.
We're AI-native, today. Our AI Agent has real, two-way conversations with shoppers. Answering questions, recommending products, and recovering abandoned checkouts.
We're a full lifecycle SMS platform. Campaigns, automations, segmentation, popups, and flows covering everything from welcome to winback.
We're building an open ecosystem. API, MCP, deeper integrations, and more control for merchants.
We have the best support team in the business. Highest-rated SMS app on Shopify, 24/7 support for everyone, and average response times under 1 minute.
We've spent years building TxtCart around SMS, and we're not changing that.
If you're reconsidering your SMS provider, my DMs are open.

Anyone actually surprised by the increase in hacks, security vulnerabilities, and bugs since AI started coding everything?
I'm not.
Guys, it's okay. Amazon management is projecting returns on its AI data centers over the next 30 years.
Our jobs are safe!

Stupid shit I did in my 30s owning an ecom brand
(from building it on only ad spend to losing my products on Black Friday)
I was an immature operator, and I did all of the irresponsible things you can do with an ecom store. My first brand was built solely on ad spend, and I was negligent with it. I didn't collect any emails or SMS, and I had no retention on the back end. The brand crashed and burned.
I learned my lesson. I fixed some of my earlier retention mistakes, and it scaled to the moon.
But then got a cease and desist sent to Shopify for allegedly infringing on a company's marks in countries we never sold any units in, and they took our products down arbitrarily on Black Friday with no research or recourse whatsoever.
I'm far wiser than I was then. Live and learn.

Hiring 2 A-players at TxtCart:
Creative Strategist + Affiliate/Influencer Manager.
Weβre bootstrapped, growing fast, and building the AI-native SMS platform for ecommerce. Lean team, real ownership, and a lot of opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the business.
Looking for people who can think for themselves, execute, and tell us what we should do next.
CREATIVE STRATEGIST
You need:
β A track record in DTC/ecom or B2B SaaS creative strategy, with actual results to back it up
β Fluency in direct response: awareness levels, mechanisms, buyer psychology, and strong copywriting
β The ability to understand when to iterate on a winner vs. test a new concept
β Ads youβve made that have spent real money, and a deep understanding of the metrics behind them
β Strong AI workflow fluency. You should already be using it in your process
What youβll own:
β Getting obsessive about our customers. Who they are, what they care about, and what gets them to act
β New angles, hooks, and customer segments to go after
β Writing video ads across formats: UGC, story, VSL, AI animation. Working with creators and editors from concept through launch
β Static ads and long-form primary text
β Funnels and landing pages. Need a different page to make an angle work? Tell us what to build
β Living in the data, deciding what to test next, and turning what works into more winners
AFFILIATE/INFLUENCER MANAGER
You need:
β A track record of building affiliate or influencer programs that drove customers and revenue
β A strong understanding of the ecommerce creator space and how to find people with the right audience
β Confidence sourcing partners, doing outreach, negotiating deals, and getting people activated
β Strong follow-through. You can keep relationships moving without someone chasing you
β Comfort with attribution, acquisition costs, and being accountable for results
What youβll own:
β Recruiting creators, influencers, and affiliates who can put TxtCart in front of the right merchants
β Outreach, negotiations, partner onboarding, and ongoing relationships
β Creator campaigns, launch activations, and getting partners consistently promoting
β Giving partners the angles, assets, and support they need to perform
β Tracking trials, paying merchants, and partner-sourced revenue. Doubling down on the relationships that work
For both roles, youβll have access to the numbers and room to bring your own ideas. We want your input. We also want someone who can take an idea and get it live.
Think youβre a strong fit? Shoot me a DM with the role youβre interested in and examples of results youβve driven.
Referrals welcome. Send this to someone who should be on our team.

Pretty interesting developments for SMS marketing heading into Q4.
TCPA class action filings are down YoY for 3 consecutive months. August fell 11.7%, July fell 45%.
Federal courts are also increasingly questioning whether SMS falls under certain TCPA Do Not Call provisions.
Doesn't mean consent goes out the window. Far from it.
But for ecommerce brands building first-party SMS lists, it's an encouraging development.
With BFCM around the corner, I'd be doubling down on list growth, automated flows, segmentation, and campaign volume.
Your customers are about to get flooded with emails and ads.
Having a direct, permission-based channel to reach them is a massive advantage.
Don't sleep on SMS this Q4.
