SEC just approved binary options tied to company KPIs, like trading volume and revenue. Markets are moving toward a million ways to express a view on a single company. Expect a lot more new products.

Tentpole game is a lot of fun. I've managed to make a 100/100 critics score movie and $1.5B box office hit and also...some very strange and funny mash ups.

The winners in consumer AI will be whoever solves the highlighted sections on this chart 👇 Privacy and trust concerns usually fade as people find products that add value to their lives The primary battle right now is against apathy

hot take: crypto and fintech are basically the same industry now. stablecoins and blockchain rails ARE a financial technology. crypto native companies are now launching cards, bank accounts, other financial products, while traditional fintechs are integrating wallets, stablecoins and blockchain rails at an unprecedented rate. we’re watching both industries attack the same problems from opposite directions until they eventually meet in the middle. crypto companies are becoming fintechs and fintechs are becoming crypto companies.

One of the biggest mistakes founders make is confusing investor interest with investor demand. A VC asks for your deck. Great. They want a second meeting. Nice. They introduce you to a partner. Even better. But until someone is actually fighting to invest, you don’t have a hot round. You have a bunch of people who are very good at taking meetings. And trust me, VCs love taking meetings. Stop counting conversations as commitments.

New short seller strategy has emerged
This guy re-created all the adobe apps with opus-5.5, ported them to rust, and opensourced them something really cool is happening
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
These projects are partial open-source Rust reimplementations of Adobe apps (built rapidly with AI agents), not complete recreations; their READMEs and roadmaps document many missing features and features still in development. github.com/storytold/phot… github.com/storytold/vect… github.com/storytold/vect… github.com/storytold/film… github.com/storytold/film… github.com/storytold/ligh… getartcraft.com

I've made 300+ pre-seed investments. The founders who died slowest all had one thing in common: they stopped talking to customers and started talking to their dashboard. Marcus Aurelius ran an empire and still walked the Forum. You have 40 users. Go see them.

The question of who is liable for the actions of a rogue AI is going to be court ruling that shifts the course of an entire industry.
The best way to pace the frontier is to hold the labs fully liable for the behavior of their models.

to build a cool product now, you really only need two ppl: one dude with exceptional vision & taste who knows what should exist & can provide the right feedback loops for iteration. & one dude who is absolutely relentless about making it real no matter what. that’s it. & sometimes these two are the same.

15 years ago, if you did the responsible thing & bought $10,000 of 'risk-free' long-term Treasuries, you'd have $11,072 today. If instead you spent $9,995 on drugs & $5 on bitcoin, you'd have $42,778 today.

How am I only just now seeing this?! They are sold out. 😢
MicroStrategy just launched $250 Bitcoin themed Jordans, but doesn't accept Bitcoin or any crypto as payment.

Say what you will about crypto but it's never boring.
For years, Trump and right-wing media have been asking, “Where’s Hunter? Where’s Hunter?” Well, here I am. Clear, strong, seven years sober, and with a lot to say. By now, you may have seen the article in the Wall Street Journal that I’m launching a meme coin called $LAPTOP. The symbol they used to try to end me is now a symbol of resilience, redemption, and recovery. But why would I ever want to support a meme coin? Why something that has been so misused by grifters? I understand the cynicism. Trump has broken trust in everything he’s ever touched. And his token was no exception. With $TRUMP, nearly one million wallets have collectively lost ~$3.8B. With my token, 20% of the coins will be airdropped to the community, and I am even including people that lost money on the $TRUMP grift. 30% of the tokens are tied to a pre-programmed mechanism. We publicly say what has to happen in the world. If it happens, the corresponding tokens are permanently burned. If it does not, those tokens are sent to charity. Either way, they leave our hands and an additional 50 million tokens will go to charity no matter what. You should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable for you. $LAPTOP isn’t just about owning something, it’s about saying something. Everybody gets knocked down. How do we help each other and our country to get back up? I've spent way too long being a story other people told. They lit a fire and threw everything into it. Here's what they don't understand: the only thing they burned was my shame. They think they killed me, but instead, all they did was make me fearless. They turned laptop into a weapon. I turned it into a token. $LAPTOP. Because the Truth Matters.

Hunter Biden's $Laptop coin has now lost 99% is less than 6 hours of release. coingecko.com/en/coins/hunte…

a lot of (good) fundraising advice on the timeline rn, so here is my simple tip for pre-seed/seed raises: if someone offers you money, figure out a way to take it and don't mess about. everyone talks about momentum and fomo in rounds, and the only functional way to create either is money in the bank (and this works in the opposite direction as well); more money in the bank, more fomo. the biggest unforced error I see a lot of first-time fundraisers make that derails their raises is believing dated myths about *how* they ought to raise money, which deters them from taking money when it's on the table (which kills their round momentum). just some recent examples I've encountered (don't do/believe these things): > putting off smaller checks because they "need to find a lead" you're raising a SAFE "round"; legally speaking there is no "round" as SAFEs are async financing instruments which the company enters independently with each investor, unlike a priced round. as such you have no legal need for a "lead", and frankly any reasonable investors that wants to write you check can slap a valuation cap on a YC-standard SAFE. taking the money, anchoring your raise around certain terms, and opening yourself up to more warm network (via the new investors) will help catalyze your raise. all checks move your round forward. > believing the entire round needs to be verbally committed before formally closing everyone once again, since SAFE rounds are not priced rounds and are independent, async instruments you do not 1) need to have your entire round committed to start closing SAFEs and 2) need to have everyone agree to the same terms. On 1), in fact, raising a SAFE round and not having capital hard committed (i.e. signed and wired) is a negative signal to investors (since SAFEs are signed and funded virtually instantaneously), rendering "soft commits" meaningless. On 2), as well documented on the timeline now, it's almost largely expected nowadays that the last investor in a raise will pay a premium over the first investor (and everyone is ostensibly happy with this status quo).

For everyone who still thinks crypto is only used for scams.
🚨 LATEST: The Taliban has placed a ban on crypto, as Afghans turn to crypto to keep their wealth out of the taliban's reach.
