Expansion of the @jcsplibraries JCSP Demonstration Library Project is long overdue; the recommendations of the Oireachtas Committee on Education need to be implemented. Access to professionally staffed school libraries should be a right for all students. @NormaFoleyTD1 @SLG_LAI
Today, we’re launching our pre-budget submission, calling on the government to keep funding for school libraries in Budget 2023.

Read over 10 MILLION words as a class……get a bowling trip! 🎳 How do we know they read that much? We use #acceleratedreader in our school library—they read, do a quiz on the book, and the words are added up for us. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 @AccReader @LiamRenlearn @jcsplibraries #schoollibrary

A rose and chocolates from a sixth year @CollegeSelskar as to quote the student, "you got me into reading Miss". A beautiful gesture and why school libraries are so important at secondary level. #schoollibrariesmatter @jcsplibraries @WWETBofficial

If there ever was a call to action for school librarians this is it “I would like to read more”! 🥹📚Some of the comments at the end of our Annual Reading Survey, several of which are from weak readers who need help. How does any school manage without a librarian? #schoollibrary

The benefits are immeasurable, the cost affordable, and the expertise already established! Why does your child NOT have a school library with a librarian?
We very much welcome the Committee's recognition of the need for a much-improved school library service in all areas of education - and in particular the proposed expansion of the JCSP Library Project
