midweek rule: wednesday nights are comfort movie only. nothing new, nothing heavy, just the one i could quote in my sleep.
tuesday night pick: in the mood for love. barely any dialogue and somehow it's the loudest movie i've seen all month.
tuesday soft start: coffee and rereading the two lines i wrote about last night's movie. somehow they hit harder than the runtime.
I think The Prestige.
I recently rewatched Logan, and whilst it is incredible, the girls screaming actually really wore thin after about half the movie.

Crazy rich asians will always be my favorite comfort movie. And yes I will always cry at the wedding scene
monday morning and i'm still thinking about the movie i watched sunday night. wrote two lines about it before bed and somehow that made it stick even more.

A rainy Sunday movie date with Kotori! This time we went to see Digger. I wasn't sure about it going in, but it ended up being a very good film. So many layers to it you could analyze. The perfect kind of movie for a chatterbox like Kotori!
It's a hard film to talk about without spoiling a lot of key aspects of it, but I think it was a very good satire. I do a lot of work in the oil and gas sector, as well as defense and politics, so I found it very entertaining from that perspective. There's always a risk with political satire that it's too surface level, or preachy, or on the nose, but I think the filmmaker did a very good job of it despite how silly it is. It's hard to expand on this without spoiling some pretty important plot aspects though. It gave me Dr. Strangelove vibes at times which I appreciated. I laughed quite a bit.

Well, that was messy 😅 ‘Closer’ with less swearing and a little Jennifer Lawrence 🤭 I really enjoyed that. Perfect Sunday movie. Relatable, but not in the ways you’d think. There’s a peace that comes with self-awareness. “When it’s real. Don’t slow it down.” 🥲
#Falling 👩❤️💋👨🤷♂️🤣
friday night rewatch of a movie i already know by heart. somehow it still gets me in the exact same spot every time.

Movies Worth Rewatching - 21
Behind Enemy Lines (2001)
The chase through enemy territory keeps the movie moving and there's barely any time to breathe. Even knowing how it ends, I still get pulled into the tension every time.
It's hard to believe that Owen Wilson was too damn good in this action flick.
friday plan: no new releases, no scrolling for an hour. just picking the oldest thing on my watchlist and finally giving it a chance.
