I’m SICK of saying it, but I’ll say it again. Asylum seekers can’t claim benefits. You need an NI number to do that. Asylum seekers aren’t staying in 5* hotels. Asylum seekers get £49.18p a week to live on. Could YOU live on that? NOPE. So stop pretending they’re living it large.

Wonderful @RefugeeWeek fun at @johnperrynps yesterday. And they were so pleased to see Z, our lovely volunteer barber, offering free haircuts to young (mostly) and old. #refugeeswelcome

Lots of young children at our drop-in this week. Early half-term? Luckily we had plenty for them to do, including the famous, free haircuts. Z will be snipping more at @johnperrynps @RefugeeWeek celebration. #refugeeswelcome

Great to get the chance to talk about my music and how musicians in #London have had to adapt since the #covid lockdowns with @ShadiaED on @LondonLive today. – at Kensington, London
I’ve collated some cost of living advice and put it all on to an additional newsletter for our families. Lots of links for #Ealing but also generic advice and support. Feel free to share if you think it could help someone #CostOfLivingCrisis sway.cloud.microsoft/38gfgxa… – at Kensington, London

Hugely inspirational talk from @DerronWallace this morning around racial inequalities in our schools and particularly on lower expectations for our black Caribbean children. Racing to buy his book #TheCultureTrap @EalingLearning – at London, England

Is there a programme that will translate letters and send out to parents in the correct language linking with MIS (SIMs atm)? I have at least 44 languages at my school with an increasing number of families brand new to English. @Headteacherchat #edutwitter #SaturdayEduChat
The right to strike of 1 in 5 workers is under threat! MPs have a final chance to vote to protect our right to strike. Use @The_TUC's tool to email your MP and demand they side with workers. It only takes two minutes #RightToStrike

It was a pleasure to write something positive and out if my usual genre as it was not focused on education. A big shout out to my local community who really are a force for good.
