This summer, Purvis Primary teachers, Acting Principal Enid Furbert-Jacobs, and Mrs. Luann Wainwright-Dill, Education Reform Unit (ERU) School Transformation Lead, traveled to the UK for professional development at The Bilingual Primary School in Brighton & Hove! Organized by the ERU, this trip was a pivotal moment for our school’s transformation as Bermuda’s first Parish Primary School to launch a Dual Language Programme for Year 1 students! Over three days, the team engaged in collaborative learning, explored bilingual teaching methods, and gained invaluable insights into creating inclusive, language-rich environments for our students.

At Victor Scott Preschool, young minds are empowered through environmental stewardship and community engagement! Our students have been exploring the world of sustainability, focusing on Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. From recycling centres to art projects with recyclable materials, they creatively explored sustainability. A special highlight was a visit from Keep Bermuda Beautiful, where students learned about the importance of healthy environmental practices. Inspired by their visit, our little ones initiated a school clean-up project, putting their new knowledge into action and making a real difference! #VictorScottPreschool #EnvironmentalStewardship #CommunityEngagement #ReduceReuseRecycle #BermudaPublicSchools
