He doesn't give off the typical evil billionaire vibes. Loves his daughter dots his wife and is not afraid to show emotions. He is not clapping for himself, he is just a father clapping for his daughter.

i thought anant ambani's role was going to be restricted to managing that animal farm, cuddling with cute animals and selling exotic ice-cream
i guess economics and business fall under "social sci" and account for a huge chunk of that 38%

There were rumours a few years ago that a very senior party functionary had been honey trapped & that one big tech company showed him a video of his romps; he went completely quiet on any big tech topic after that.
As I keep saying, Big Tech knows EVERYTHING about you.
I think @narendramodi govt is losing the battle of perceptions particularly on @instagram. Every day hundreds of propaganda reels are being made against the govt that is being forcibly pushed on the timelines of everyone, even when you don’t follow the makers. The platform has clearly picked a side. And @AshwiniVaishnaw’s ministry seems to be either clueless about it, or the babus are compromised. @blsanthosh

For non-lawyers: This is a HUGE story! Weil is legal royalty.
Founded in 1931. $2.1 billion in revenue last year. One of the most powerful law firms on Wall Street.
Lehman Brothers. General Motors. Enron. Weil handled their bankruptcies.
These are the lawyers you call when your company’s collapse is going to end up in a history book.
Now they reportedly need restructuring counsel themselves.
A wind-down would be a stunning end to a 95-year-old institution.
How does this happen?

Rumors that chili maker Lao Gan Ma laid off 500+ workers due to AI have gone viral in China.
Beneath Beijing’s positive messaging, many ordinary Chinese people are worried about AI and jobs.
Lao Gan Ma recently touted a new AI-powered chili inspection system that uses high-speed industrial cameras that significantly outperform manual inspection.
A stat about the company using this AI system to reduce human inspectors from 600 to 48 went viral on Chinese social media. The iconic, family-run company pushed back.
But if you look at the data, the company has reduced headcount from 2,912 to 740 in the past few years while earning record revenues.

whole bunch of guys in mumbai locals seem to stare at online gambling apps/ sports betting
reduced after recent bans but there still seem to be some shady ones
not good at all; most of these folk shouldn't be spending even a rupee on betting or gambling
python simplified a lot of things which were otherwise quite complex; pytorch made ML accessible
the underlying package was Torch written in C/C++ way back in the early 2000s
also see how current ML-AI algorithms and foundations were already being used for a long time
This is probably the best tweet you will read today.
A kid who was bad at maths, rejected by 25 universities and turned down by DeepMind three times, went on to build the software that OpenAI, Tesla and Meta now use to train their AI.
His story is the best argument I've seen for never ever quitting.
He grew up in Hyderabad (India), struggled with maths at school, and ended up at VIT in Vellore. VIT is a kind of college people call tier 2 in India, or probably worse.
He applied to twelve American universities for a master's with a GRE score of 1420 and was rejected by every one of them. He flew to the United States anyway on a J-1 visa with no real plan, applied to fifteen more programmes, and was turned down by all of them except USC and, through a late admission, NYU in 2010.
At NYU he started working with a researcher named Yann LeCun. Yes the same legendary researcher you’re thinking about. When he looked for jobs, the rejections kept coming. DeepMind said no. Almost everyone said no. His only offer was a test engineering role at Amazon.
Later, he applied to deepmind again, but was rejected again.
He kept building anyway. Around 2011 he wrote one of the fastest AI inference engines on phones, and still got rejected by DeepMind a third time, and then emailed LeCun one more time.
That email, along with his open source work, got him into Facebook's AI research lab, where he barely made it through bootcamp. Then senior engineers several levels above him couldn't get a major image model to train, and he, the most junior person in the room, found the bug that had everyone stuck. It was his first real win, almost ten years in.
He went on to co-create PyTorch with a team of three, and then watched management try to shut it down over internal politics. He has said he cried at a bar about it. A few people fought to save it, it launched in 2017, and today it sits underneath a huge share of the AI the world uses.
His name is Soumith Chintala.
Today he is Chief Technology Officer at Mira Murati led Thinking Machines Labs.

If you love your kids, start exploring blue collar work in India.
Demand for blue-collar workers is at an all-time high in countries like the USA, Canada and Australia.
And this is going to happen in India very soon.
I'm not saying every child should become a plumber or electrician.
I'm saying we need to stop treating skilled trades as inferior to white-collar jobs.
A young person who masters electrical work, welding, HVAC or manufacturing can eventually start a contracting business, open a factory or build a hardware brand.
And eventually make more money than any white-collar job.
Add social media, and they can build an audience, attract customers and sell their expertise far beyond their local market.
India has millions of young people chasing the same corporate jobs.
Perhaps it's time we started raising more builders, operators and business owners.
What do you think?

No stray dogs or cows in sight, no broken roads, no garbage, and no dust on the roadside. Welcome to the rise of private cities in India.
Our municipalities are parasites, and people are finally realising it.

Nail on the head...NRIs want to invest but Kyc at entry and Tax procedures when withdrawing are killing inflows @FinMinIndia @PMOIndia
There are so many issues with NRI investments which have reduced their investments in India. For example- a fund cannot have more than 50 pct collective NRI money. Why- no one knows.
An individual NRI cannot own more than 25 pct of a fund- Why- no one knows.
This applies to even OCIs ( who are foreign citizens) but not to foreign citizens who don't have OCI: why- no one knows.
General explanation is that Indians will do round tripping through NRIs/OCIs. Why will they do round tripping- no one knows. There is no difference in taxes whether u are India based or FII.
Even if there is no real financial logic to do round tripping but some Indian resident wants to round tripping - Why Indian will do round tripping only through NRIs/OCIs and not foreign citizens- no one knows.
And at the end of it- if some very small number of residents do have foreign money outside and they want to invest it back in India why stop them- no one knows. Also if a small percentage are doing something which authorities do not approve, why stop the route for a much much much much larger genuine population- no one knows.
this might actually be a good way to handle it
so you're stitching together stuff one function or module at a time and at least have an idea of the underlying components; specify the outlines
like using libraries or API calls
