EXCLUSIVE: MIGRANT BOAT LAUNCHES FROM BELGIUM AS AUTHORITIES STAND AND WATCH
29th October 2026 | Belgian-French border | Approx. 3:00 AM local time
What I believe could be the first ever footage of an illegal migrant boat launching from a Belgian beach, just across the border from France.
But the real story isn’t the boat.
It’s the Belgian authorities standing there watching it happen.
No visible intervention. No attempt to stop the launch.
Different country. Same scenes I’ve witnessed repeatedly in France.
Two countries, one border, and the same question: what exactly are the authorities doing to stop these boats?

Nothing highlights the fiscal failure of this government more starkly than the plight of Poundland. The chain's 600 stores and 12,000 workers sit on the verge of collapse, not because its customers have walked away - Poundland's sales grew by 6.7% in September - but because of this government's unaffordable tax rises, which makes it impossible to run a business that works on slim profit margins to keep its prices down for its customers. How ironic that a government preaching about helping the least well-off is forcing a company out of business that does just that.

Can someone explain to me why in the UK we are taxed on savings? So you've managed to save something after you've already paid tax to only be taxed again after you reach a certain amount? Feels like they have your eyeballs for everything in this country at times.

🚩 RAYNER CONFIRMS NO SECOND REFERENDUM: Plan is to reverse Brexit via Labour’s next manifesto!
Angela Rayner has let the cat out of the bag on Labour’s plan to reverse Brexit.
On @LBC, Lewis Goodall put it to her that any serious move to rejoin the EU must be subject to a second referendum. She said no. Instead, she confirmed the plan is to put rejoining in Labour’s next manifesto and let a general election decide it:
“I would expect that in the run up to the next general election, when we put it to the country, that the country then can see what the Labour Party is offering and whether they want to re-elect a Labour government.”
There it is, straight from the horse’s mouth (no pun intended).
This is a disgrace and fundamentally undemocratic. The 2016 Brexit vote brought out millions of people who had long given up on politics, voters who had never cast a ballot in their lives. Labour now wants to tell them their vote was meaningless and can be quietly overturned without their specific consent.
They constantly lecture the public about “getting involved” and “making your voice heard”. Yet when those same people turned out for one of the biggest democratic votes in this country’s history, Labour’s answer is to sidestep that result entirely.
A general election is not the place to settle a constitutional question of this magnitude.
Labour’s last “landslide” was nothing of the sort once you look at the numbers. A low vote share and a fragmented opposition handed them a huge majority. Treating that as a mandate to drag Britain back into the EU without a dedicated referendum is a calculated insult to the voters who delivered Brexit.
If they go ahead with this, it will cause uproar, and rightly so. Don’t do it.

Look at them. Three on the step, the eleven on the door, the box held up like a trophy.
Not one of the three has held the same job for a year.
Left, James Murray. Tax minister, then Chief Secretary, then Health Secretary for nine weeks, then back to the Treasury as Financial Secretary and Paymaster General. Four posts in two years. The nine weeks was the National Health Service. The longest stretch he has managed is the one that decides what you pay.
Centre, John Healey. Twenty nine years in the House and the only one of them who has done a decade at anything. He resigned as Defence Secretary in June because the Treasury would not fund three per cent. Six weeks later the Prime Minister who replaced the last Prime Minister made him Chancellor. The man who called the Treasury unwilling is now the Treasury.
Right, Emma Reynolds. Resigned from the frontbench in 2015 the moment Corbyn arrived, lost her seat in 2019, went off to lobby for TheCityUK, came back in 2024 and has had four ministerial jobs since. She is Chief Secretary now, which means she signs off the spending, and this Budget puts three per cent on the bank surcharge. The City's lobbyist is taxing the City.
Ten posts between the three of them. One photograph. And a country being told to have hope.
Nobody in that picture has been anywhere long enough to be blamed for it.

Chancellor John Healey downing a pint after the Budget. Hundreds of pubs have shut since the Labour government came into power and hammered them with tax rises. The politicians who put the costs up are the ones left at the bar - funded by the rest of us.
Andy Burnham has been accused of abandoning his Makerfield constituents after becoming Prime Minister.
Residents say he used the Leave voting seat as a stepping stone and lied to voters about Brexit.
One local told GB News he is just making things up all the while and is trying to take the country back into Europe.
Another said he has lied to everybody just to get voted in.
Is @andyburnham a liar?
