Another one of my papers now on round 3 of revisions. As exhausting as the back-and-forth can be, I’m in awe of reviewers who have the patience to do this many times, esp. since it's unpaid labor. This is exactly the level of thoroughness I aspire to bring to my own peer reviews.

Was at the airport when Duterte was arrested last year, but missed the actual event! Sayang. Serendipitously, Fernan & I just published our paper on what that arrest activated among Filipinos online, right before the anniversary. DM us for a copy!
One year ago today we were watching Duterte's ICC arrest unfold and felt compelled to capture everything in real time. The rage, the rallies, the sense that something irreversible had just happened. That week of data became this article, out today. @leecandelaria

New chapter out! This took a while. Back in 2021, I interviewed fellow temporary migrants in Japan about their experiences during the pandemic, hoping to make sense of being "stuck" while watching events unfold in both our home and host countries. link.springer.com/chapter/10…

This chapter really took a while so it sounds very much like the student me back in 2021! It was also the first time I dabbled in this kind of research with human subjects. Also a bit autoethnographic! So it’s really special. 🥹
