My husband pays his parents a monthly allowance, but he doesn't do the same for my parents. I've confronted him about it several times, and his argument is that my parents have their children who can take care of them. But I don't agree with him. I believe that marriage makes my parents his parents too. If he can comfortably put his own parents on a monthly allowance, why shouldn't my parents enjoy the same privilege? Must financial support for parents be restricted to one's biological parents, or should a married man extend the same gesture to his wife's parents? I'd like to hear people's honest opinions.
