Profound appreciation to Governor Gavin Newsom who courageously commuted the sentences of all 548 prisoners on death row in California.
My father was murdered in California and when his assailant was sentenced to death, his brother, Senator Edward Kennedy, on behalf of our family, asked that the murderer's life be spared. He was right then, and Gavin Newsom is right today.
It may be politically expedient to support the death penalty, but it is always morally repugnant.
Let's remember the words of Robert Kennedy on April 5, 1968:
"Whenever any American's life is taken by another American unnecessarily - whether it is done in the name of the law or in the defiance of law, by one man or a gang, in cold blood or in passion, in an attack of violence or in response to violence - whenever we tear at the fabric of life which another man has painfully and clumsily woven for himself and his children, the whole nation is degraded."

I’m a big fan of SpaceX and Tesla. He is a great business leader and entrepreneur and innovator. I want him to stick to those things - I don’t like that he’s trying to buy this senate seat in Texas. He’s using his wealth to influence our system. That’s where I draw the line. I will stand up to Elon when he tries to buy our government. But I will but I will work with him when it comes to technology and innovation.
